A few days ago, I requested prayers through FReepmail for my friend's baby. Upon reading baby Ada's update today, I knew that I needed to go bigger, she needs all the prayers she can get. Ada was born April 26 and wasn't doing well. She was taken to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh where the diagnosis was that her heart did not develop with the rest of her body. Ada was supposed to undergo surgery today but the doctor thought it was too risky. They believe that she may need a heart transplant instead.
Ada's mom was my assistant coach and a close friend while I was teaching. Even though I moved to another state, we still keep in touch and arrange visits to catch up. Their family is a wonderful, Christian family that has already suffered their share of heartache. A couple of years ago, my friend's sister was killed in a car accident approx. 10 days before her wedding. My friend and her husband have two other children. She has been having to drive 2 hours each way to the hospital daily to see Ada. The hospital doesn't have any beds for her right now.
Please pray for this family and little Ada and for the family that could possibly save her life through their tragic loss.
Continued prayers, please keep us posted.
Thank you for the update. Prayer bump for Ada and her family; and for you, Mama.... you are a sweetheart.
Praying for them!
Prayers for little Ada.
I am so thankful for the update and wish by all means to remain on your ping list! I am grateful to Our Lord to be able to continue in prayer. May you also be blessed and covered with grace during this time of service, WV.
You, Lord, are the Great Redeemer. We are looking to Thee.

I just got back from my visit with my family and meeting with Ada's mommy. She said that to look at her, she is perfect. Mommy can hold her now, which she loves and takes comfort in. On Saturday, she was allowed to start feeding her. There is some good news. Heart transplants are the second easiest transplant to do and it can be from any blood type. She can receive an infant heart and is not limited to a newborn heart. It has to be within certain size limits, but this broadens their search. She can make it a month "as is". After a month like she is, they will have to start doing procedures to help her keep going. As long as her vitals are strong (right now they are very good, Ada is also eating very well!), she doesnt get any infections and her organs are functioning well, she can go for quite sometime with the procedures. Worst case would be that she would need to be hooked up to a heart lung machine. We pray that it doesnt come to that, she is high on the list for a new heart. She said that it has been hard on her husband because he had to go back to work, and he only gets to see Ada on the weekends.
She said that she just can't believe this is going on. They took Ada back for her picture just before being discharged and they came back and said that they think they heard a heart murmur. Then, things just spiraled downward from there. She said to tell you that she is so grateful for the prayers for Ada, they are what is keeping their family going through all of this.
could you add update post #112 to my title? Thanks

Prayers up here from Tx...
I was thinking of Ada the other day, when on the news here, they were talking about a very young girl, that had been shot in a drive by...and last I heard she was on life support....I couldn't help but wonder if she was young enough for Ada..
I am sure Ada is on the registry, so if this little girl doesn't make it...and her heart is available, I pray that it might work out for your friend's family...
I know that might sound heartless to some...but, unfortunately, with heart transplants, that is the way it works...and as we know, God works in His own way.
God Bless you WV MM...Ada, and her family
