The Ezekiel Option
Joel C. Rosenberg's New York Times best-selling novels have an uncanny way of coming true.
The first page of his first thriller, The Last Jihad, put readers inside the cockpit of a hijacked jet, coming in on a kamikaze attack into an American city but it was written nine months before September 11, 2001. As Jihad unfolds, an American president finds himself in a war with Saddam Hussein over terrorism and weapons of mass destruction but it was published five months before the actual war with Iraq began.
Rosenberg's second novel, The Last Days, opens with the death of Yasser Arafat and an American president pressing for peace in the Middle East but it was published thirteen months before the actual death of Yasser Arafat.
Now comes The Ezekiel Option, an explosive new political thriller that literally feels ripped from tomorrow's headlines.
With Saddam Hussein and Yasser Arafat out of the way, a dazzling era of security and prosperity seems to have come to the Middle East. With the help of an American president trying to spread freedom and democracy, Israel and the Palestinians have signed an historic peace agreement after oil is found in Israel. Violence is down. Their economies are booming.
But a new evil looms on the horizon. A dictator is rising in Russia. Iran is feverishly building nuclear weapons. A new Axis of Evil is emerging, led by Moscow and Tehran. And Jon Bennett and Erin McCoytwo senior White House advisorsfind themselves facing the most chilling question of their lives: Is the world rushing to the brink of an apocalypse prophesied more than 2,500 years ago?
"If there is one novel you read this year, this is it! The Ezekiel Option is one of the most exciting political thrillers I've ever read like an episode of '24' with a supernatural twist." Rush Limbaugh
"It's a little eerie, Joel, if you go back to your past two novels, they have run parallel with modern events, and you're kind of scaring me with this one you write in the book about a dictatorship rising in Russia and Iran feverishly pursuing nuclear weaponsit's just real life, except in novel form." Sean Hannity
I would like to give a little personal note on this book as some of you may be thinking the same thing I was thinking when I first saw this book.
I am typically not a fiction reader and the last thing I wanted to read was another Prophecy fiction book. However I decided to give the first chapter of this book a chance before turning to other material.
Needless to say, I could not put it down and those I have passed it along to have said the same thing. I have always loved the Ezekiel 38-39 scenario and have come to appreciate the many views that exist on this passage. The way in which Joel writes is not only enjoyable reading - it's like having a good prophecy discussion with a friend. Just what events might unfold that would bring about the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39?
This book explores such a scenario and while the book is fiction, the prophecy upon which it is based is not. This is one of the finest pieces of Christian fiction I have read. Joel's books have been on the best seller list several times. If you enjoy Bible Prophecy and are tracking today's news headlines - you will love this book.
I've read it a couple months ago. Really good story. Seems to be the third in a series with the same "hero", but don't need to read the prev books.
I read Ezekiel Option and injoyed it.
Well gosh, that one was hard to call.

Wow!
Talk about reading my mind.
I was just reading this on the internet after doing a Google search for Ezekiel 38.
Then I came back to FR and lo and behold, here it is!
Freaky!
