The Marine Corps is having a ribbon cutting ceremony for the National Museum of the Marine Corps this November 10,2006 at the Marine Base, Quantico, Virginia.
The Marine Corps is requesting contributions for the Musuem. One way to give a donation and to see something tangible for it is to have an inscription engraved on a brick to be used in the pathways around Semper Fidelis Memorial Park overlooking the Museum.
Due to the time constraint of November 10 fast approaching, the Marine Corps is asking for the brick request be promptly made.
To view the site for the engraved bricks, click here: Engraved Bricks. The Preview Test for my computer does not link to this page, so if you have the same problem, click the below link, then click "Make a Donation" on the right side of the page, then in the top bar under "Get Involved", click "Engraved Bricks" on the right side.
To get into the MC Heritage Foundation web site, click here: Heritage Foundation
The Foundation is also looking for miscellaneous donations so if you can't afford the $300 for the engraved Bricks.
I believe with any donation amount, you can get free tickets to the ribbon ceremony, but they are going fast.

Anyone who can donate display items or buy a brick do it!
I gave some pictures to the Army Transportation Museum and every time I see the large picture (blown up to about 6 wide) and the small plaque with my name I get a rush. Its the same picture I used for the cover on my
memoirs.:

From I-95, you can see the tip of the metal section towering above the trees. It is pretty neat since we knew what it was. Thanks.

I didn't know that you couldn't request a brick online. Thanks for the heads up.
You just have to be quick, but not to quick. Our family is sending in a request for a brick for our brother and don't want them to run out.

Great pic. I assume you have more pics in you Memoirs. Father's Day is coming up. I'll have to drop some hints about it. I already have too many serious conservative type books. I need something else on the shelf.
I'll have to talk to my nephew. He has his dad's Vietnam letters with envelopes. This might be a good place to donate them to.

I've meaning to post this earlier but couldn't find time. Then we received the brick request in the mail. The accompanying letter expressed some urgency to getting our brick, so it was time to make time to post it.
