Gold was 253 Euros to the ounce in January 2001, it is now 520 Euros to the ounce. Obviously there has been a serious loss of confidence in the Euro.
I couldn't bring myself to finish this . . . I'll come back later when I'm drunk.
If the Constitution is under any threat, it's from liberal activist judges who for years have been unconstitutionally making their own laws and abusing their judicial powers in the name of political correctness.
LOL.
LOL.
I don't know what happened to this fella, but he is now definitely in the Helen Thomas "Hate Bush" club.
He used to be reliably conservative. What pushed him off the deep end?
I don't agree with everything the President has done, but this article is a cheap slam. The dollar's fall had as much to do with cleaning up the last bubble's excesses as anything. Gold has been surging against all currencies, IIRC. Iran, IMO, declared war on us in 1979. Iran has admitted it houses top Al Qaeda people (Osama's sons)- there are many reasons why we can attack at will, as per the Congress' ipso facto declaration of war (for all intents and purposes, all necessary force = dec of war). Mfg? Does this guy remember the Japanese buying Rockefeller Center? Does he not realize offshoring is only in the news during a Rep administration? I'm not happy with a lot of things, but Bush has inherited alot of things...
I like how Jonah Goldberg referred to morons like this one; spittle flecked bloggers.
" Illegal immigration has continued to explode. While Bush spends $1 trillion and many lives trying to control borders in the Middle East, America's borders remain undefended and overrun. Bush advocates amnesty for the illegals who have invaded America, while Bush invades distant countries. "
He got this right ...
There are so many logical fallacies just in the first three sentences that I gave up.
I really don't know, but it wasn't just a move to the center, it was a rabid Michael Moore move to the left.
Ha ha! I read the entire article, and wondered to my self the whole time, "why am I reading this garbage?".
It's caused me to want a drink.
He says this like ignoring the U.N. is a bad thing.
Believe me, you could spend 3 hours on a crack pipe, and still not want to go back there.
Instead of putting the Parenthesis with the Paul Craig Robert BS alert, you should have put a Parenthesis saying: (Knee jerk defenders of Bush come and post here) because that's what is going on.
Since when are conservatives supposed to be mindless knee jerk defenders of a Republican president?
Paul Craig Roberts raises some good points that should be discussed. Unfortunately Free Republic seems to have been taken over by some kind of Democrat underground which is chasing any and all valid discusion right off the pages in favor of what sounds like mob decision making.
At least Paul is citing two beacons of honesty and credibility in this rant. LOL!
..the Bush regime exercises dictatorial powers. The exercise of these dictatorial powers by the executive is a far greater danger to American liberty than are Muslim terrorists.
...unaccountable executive power is inconsistent with free societies. America is no exception. Unless Bush is impeached and turned over to the war crimes court in the Hague, Americans will never reclaim their liberties from an executive branch that has established itself as the sole judge of the limits of its powers.
Wow. I get called a traitor here because I defend the rights of people to trade goods and services without government interference. These same people consider this horses ass to be a patriot who only has America's best interests at heart. Weird.
Very few people realize it but Russia, under the long Communist reign, had a constitution. It read almost word for word like the U. S. Constitution.
It was meaningless because it was not enforced. Our own constitution, by gradual erosion, has reached that point - almost. It doesn't have far to go.
It would be hard for a staff of constitutional scholars to find even one article of the U. S. Constitution that has not been violated by government again and again, or just simply ignored.
