Florida Gov. Jeb Bush - Praying for OUR state and Nation !
Where's the ACLU? Isn't, like, praying for one's state and nation unconstitutional? /sarc
A sad day for the ACLU I'm sure
I second the motion. Where the H*** is the ACLU at a time like this. The nation will not survive if Jeb Bush can get away with praying in public!!!!!!!!!!!
Passing it on.. if you have any pics from a Local National Day of Prayer event please post them here.. THANKS !!
BTTT
We've already had the ACLU lawsuits here. No government official can support such activities, although they can attend in their individual capacities.
Du'ers and Micheal Newdow must be having conniptions.

Locals observe National Day of Prayer

APPLETON WISCONSIN - The Rev. Mike Randerson recently became discouraged watching media reports of war around the globe as well as acts of terrorism.
"I can shut off the news and it can be over for me, but there are those who cant shut off the news and live with this every single day," he said. "They find themselves in the midst of a battle making incredible amounts of sacrifice."
Randerson, of Pathways Church, Grand Chute, was one of more than 150 people who united in prayer Thursday at the local observance of the National Day of Prayer held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel. Established in 1952 by Congress, it is a day set aside for people of all faiths to pray to the God of their understanding addressing local, state and national issues as well as praying for those in the armed forces.
After nine months in the thick of battle with the 10th Mountain Infantry in Baghdad, Army Sgt. Ben Honer, 24, returns home Sunday for a 15-day leave. Prayer is what gets his parents, Debbie and Peter Honer of Neenah, through the ordeal.
"That is what sustains us and him and all those over there," Debbie Honer said. "We have so many people praying for us and him and the guys
in this terrible situation. God gives you the peace that you need every day to get through this. There are times I get very overwhelmed and then I just have to step back, refresh and renew myself and say, Wait a minute, youre not in control God is in control. Ben is right in his hands and sheltered under his wing."
In his keynote address, author, educator and historian Dr. Patrick (Jake) Jacobs, of Appleton, said it is important to pray for those who are sacrificing for us. "Since the beginning of time, man has tried to deny, suppress, destroy and attack Gods love.
Only when men and nations have sought his face, abiding in his words and obeyed his will, has true peace, true love, true tranquility come to man and nations."
This years theme, America Honor God, called Americans to remember that God was the one who first blessed and continues to bless the nation.
"As much as we are blessed by the Christian values of this nation, our hope Lord is not in this nation.
Our hope is not in our government," prayed the Rev. Dennis Episcopo of Appleton Alliance Church. "Our hope is in Jesus Christ in the name of his church."
Dean Moede, a co-founder of S-Direct Christian Center in Neenah, said its all part of Gods divine plan.
"Maybe we are at a point in time where we need this challenge as believers to come to the reality of who he is and what were all about. Thats exciting," he said.
