I agree.
You know what else is a crock, is that any of these workers are skilled. I've seen so many of them work and all they do is exactly what they're told while not even applying common sense dnd often trying to cut corners anyway.
They're essentially quasi-automated human beings. Ya give 'em a set of instructions, and if you're lucky, they'll do exactly what you told them.
Yet everyone talks as if they are such skilled workers filling skilled positions. IMO it's an enormous part of the reason why customer service in this nation is taking a nosedive.
