Hogwash. Ike didn't have 50 years of civil rights legislation and Supreme Court law to stop him in his tracks. If you believe that some president known or unknown is going build your wall and round all of the illegals up ala Operation Wetback you are not even close to living in the real world. The demographic fact is that we are about to see the taxpayer vs tax recipient pyramid invert for the first time in our history with the retirement of the boomers. That is what is making the illegal immigration issue so tough. For good or ill taxpayers are going to have to be created and our birth rates are not sufficient to do it. You can cry principle all you want but the fact is that voters vote their self interests and small government is not in the interests of those that will be depending on it for all or part of their retirement income and most of their medical costs. Keep dreaming of the 1950's because it is going to get a lot worse.
