Associated Press ^ | May 3, 2006 | PHILIP ELLIOTT

Howard Dean, in a speech to the American Jewish Committee...

took a swipe at the Republican Party, saying the Democratic Party is one of inclusion and religious freedom.

"I was recently asked about the difference between the Democratic and Republican parties," Dean said.

"When it comes right down to it, the essential difference is that the Democrats fundamentally believe it is important to make sure that American Jews feel comfortable being American Jews."

Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman, who is Jewish, addressed the group on Tuesday.

The head of the Democratic Party said Wednesday that unchecked U.S. reliance on foreign oil helps fund terrorists and the nation must address its energy needs in a way that creates jobs.

"When it comes right down to it, the essential difference is that the Democrats fundamentally believe it is important to make sure that American Jews feel comfortable being American Jews." Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman, who is Jewish, addressed the group on Tuesday.

Dean has hit Hilary-like heights of pandering. How proud DUmmies must be.

Whereas the GOP wants American Jews to feel like Japanese Jews.

I get it.

I just find this hilarious--the essential difference in the parties isn't tax policy, war policy, civil rights, whatever--it's how they treat the Jews??????

Dean's logic is very confusing.

How dare you, sir, impute that any of this man's utterances is in any way tinged, let alone touched, by LOGIC!? Howard is working very hard at trying to lead a herd of jackasses towards a goal, any goal. I have a great deal of offal love for this ungovernable governor and wish him many more years of ... what does he do ... ohh yes - screaming.

I heard Howard Dean on Meet the Press a couple of months ago and Tim Russert asked him about the Democratic agenda, when would it come out, etc. And Dean said, that Democrats don't have any responsibility to put proposals out there for policy changes, that their responsibility is to criticize this president. \\

Think about it. When have any Democrats recently said what they would do if elected to Congress, if the Dems.take over Congress this November? All they do is criticize Bush without saying what they would do differently.

...the nation must address its energy needs in a way that creates jobs.

What does this moron think the expansion of the domestic oil exploration and production sector does?

Or are they looking for more parasite government positions for 9 to 5 people who do not like to get their fingers dirty and don't know a crown block from a kelly bushing?

Dean's definition of an "American Jew," as opposed to, oh, let's say, a FREE REPUBLIC/Republican Jew, are probably as different as night and day.  !

Jobs in Dean's mind are ( first ) a government job, ( second ) a union job, or best...a union government job.

The DUmmies are against self employment or private sector jobs.

I can't speak for the whole oil patch, but there are virtually no union jobs (I never met a union employee in nearly 30 years) and danged few government ones in the oil patch up here.

Seems like 'screamin' Dean' is SOL (LOL!).

Dean is a nut. Here is another one of his rants. He could teach high school geography.

He could teach a special class on global warming, he would fit right into the liberal left agenda. What a nut case is correct. Leave him as the DNC Charmian - he is the gift that just keeps on giving.

So, as he says, he wants to make sure that American Jews feel comfortable being American Jews while he tries to make the rest of us feel guilty about being American, making money, driving SUVs, owning guns, winning the War on Terror.......
