It would be an interesting motion picture if someone produced one based on "What if" the French or Spanish had kept control.

There is something wrong with beer that needs fruit added to be able to drink it.

Beer shouldn't have fruit added to it, and televised sports shouldn't have commentary added to it.

If Modela is based in Mexico it cannot be 50% owned by BUD. Mexican law prohibits their companies to be more than 49% foreign owned, a fine point usually missed by journalists who "report" on such things.

IOW, Modela is a Mexican company with a large US investor.

I was co-opted by the hospitality industry and the beer manufacturers a long time ago.

You were? Pray tell!

Instead of tacos or fajitas, I'll have an American steak with french fries. At an American restaurant. With American workers.

Well stated. Creating hostility to all things Mexican is not the answer to illegal immigration, it only gives the commies more PR ammo to portray the movement as one of ethnic hatred rather than one of immigration and national identity.

And Bud are the guys behind Cinco de Mayo. It's an American drinking holiday.

What the hell IS cinco de Mayo?

Cinco de Mayo commemorates a Mexican victory over occupying French troops in the Battle of Puebla, May 5, 1862.

Mexican Independence Day is September 16th.

DosXX is one of my favs, but the last 10 years the price got so high stateside that I abandon them for microbrews instead. I lived in Merida for a few months back in 96, you could get an entire case DosXX for a few bucks. I was in heaven.

I trust you'll also be boycotting St. Patrick's day, as that is a "foreign" holiday, and there are significant numbers of Irish here illegally as well. Or is this just an anti-hispanic thing you have going?

Why would anyone buy Mexican beer in the first place?

Mexican beer does suck. A lot of people bought into advertising and a lime, not into good beer.

Life is too short to drink sucky beer.

You should read the diaries of General A.W. Terrell. Maximilian did get how despised he was by Mexican peasants. He was so much like George Bush.

Personally, I would take it a lot further. I think all persons legally here and with gainful employment should absent themselves from their place of business on Cinco de Mayo as well as refrain from engaging in commerce on that day. It would serve as a demonstration of who really is vital to the U.S. economy and also give a vivid demonstration of what a job that an American doesn't want to do really looks like. Perhaps our lawmakers would finally hear the voices of the people who put them in office and who expect them to secure the border against invasion.

Mexican beer is good. Better than Bud or Miller. I like Spaten beer (Spatenbrau), which is from Munich. American beer (except for micro-brew) is like drinking lemonade. Lite-beer is an oxymoron.
