What I'm wondering is how long until the Stars & Stripes is deemed racist and people not allowed to fly it. It sounds crazy but in England the cross of St. George is getting the same treatment - it's regarded as imperialist and upsets the immigrants. Precisely the reason Canada dumped the Union Jack in the 60s for the more immigrant friendly Maple Leaf.

That's not why Canada made the maple leaf flag- Sheesh! Where did you get that from? The search for a canadian flag began in 1925, and was rekindled again by Lester B. Pearson in 1964, who wished to adopt a new and distinctly Canadian flag before Canada's 100'th birthday.

Some provinces still have union Jack type of flags, Such as Manitoba, B.C., Ont. and many of their coat of arms (provincial seal) also contain a union jack.

It won't be just the Stars & Stripes but all American symbols, including George Washington on our money that'll eventually be deemed racist if we continue on the present course.
