Illegal Immigration Special Report - From Congressman John Campbell:

Posted on 05/03/2006 6:18:20 AM PDT by edcoil

I can't keep from commenting on all the "protests" that went on around the country yesterday. So, here are my thoughts:

May Day: Have you noticed the significance of the date that was picked for these protests? May Day has been a socialist holiday since the beginning of the Socialist/Marxist Movement in the late 19th century. For decades, we would watch TV clips of the Soviet Union's big May Day celebrations at Red Square where they would showcase their latest weaponry. May Day is a socialist/communist holiday. I do not think the choice of this day is any coincidence.

What we saw yesterday is really more about organized labor and Socialism than it is about illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is the latest vehicle by which the unions want to increase their sagging enrollment.

Organization: Did you notice how organized this was? Did it occur to you where the flags came from? Who picked the time and location and communicated the message to show up? Doing this for thousands of people is not an easy job. It is a monumental effort that requires lots of money and time. Automated phone calls are used to promote the event; armies of volunteers and staff pass out signs, t-shirts, and flags. Anyone who has been involved in organizing such a rally would tell you the same thing.

Who did that yesterday? Are we to think that thousands of illegal aliens who supposedly live paycheck to paycheck and who largely do not speak English just spontaneously made this happen? No, unions and other well-funded leftist organizations did. They did it because their power and their agenda are served by more illegal immigration.

Status Quo: And have you wondered where these protesters were the last 10 years? And what brought them out now? They have been quiet because they really like the status quo. They are empowered by a weak government that does not enforce its laws. The passage of HR 4437 in the House is what has triggered all of this. That bill is about border and interior enforcement. I thought the bill was good, but they must think it will work or they wouldn't be protesting so loudly. That’s why we must make sure we pass enforcement legislation this year.

Boycott: The original purpose of this "May Day" event was to have illegal immigrants walk off the job to show how devastated our economy would be without them. Did you notice the devastation? Did our economy stop in its tracks?

More importantly, how real was the boycott? Did illegal aliens refuse to go to the emergency rooms? Did they “boycott” other taxpayer funded benefits?

I am pleased to say that I think yesterday's events were counterproductive. They exposed what the “May Day” event is really about while failing to have the negative economic impact they sought. The vast majority of Americans are repulsed by socialism and anti-American activity when they see it.

In the days of the Vietnam War, Richard Nixon talked of the silent majority. The silent majority didn't protest. They didn't march. They didn't agree with the protesters. But, the silent majority represented the majority of public opinion.

This Congressman still listens to you, the silent majority, and many of my colleagues do as well.

Until next week, I remain respectfully,

Congressman John Campbell

It looks like he is keeping the promises he made when he ran against Jim Gilchrist of the Minutemen. It is kind of an about face from his pro-illegal voting record in the California Legislature but I guess people can learn and change.

I saw an article the other day that Jim Gilchrist was planning to run for President in 2008 as a candidate for the Constitution Party. Maybe he will have the same positive trans-formative effect on whatever open borders scumbag the GOP nominates.

I heard Jim interviewed on that question and he said he would consider running if the GOP runs McCain.

Thanks for sharing! I like this line:

they must think it will work or they wouldn't be protesting so loudly

I wonder if all of the sad sacks who say nothing will work so we just have to give them amnesty caught that.

There is a news release I just brief by that the people in Virginia just voted out their mayor and two council members that voted for a day labor building in the city.

I believe the backlash against the communists that ran the May 1, May Day parade will get a hard lesson that Americans have a hard respoinse to communist.

Sadly the majority of mexican workers will be caught in the cross file along with Bush and Gov. Arnold.

Campbell wasn't even in Congress when HR 4437 was passed. And he's often been a "Drier" on this issue in the past.
If he recently got religion, fine, just beware!

Check this email that I just received. You may find it informative.

Subject: FW: AMERICAN WORKER IN MEXICO

From the other side of the fence.....

I received the following from (Tom O'Malley) who was a Director with SW BELL in Mexico City.

Enjoy, Bill

Hello Bill:

You remember I spent five years working in Mexico.

I worked under a tourist Visa for three months and could legally renew it for three more months. After that you were working Illegally. I was technically illegal for three weeks waiting on the FM3 approval

During that six months our Mexican and US Attorneys were working to secure a permanent work visa called a FM3. It was in addition to my US passport that I had to show each time I entered and left the country. Barbara's was the same except hers did not permit her to work.

To apply for the FM3 I needed to submit the following notarized originals (not copies) of my:

1. Birth certificate for Barbara and I.

2. Marriage certificate.

3. High school transcripts and proof of graduation.

4. College transcripts for every college I attended and proof of graduation.

5. Two letters of recommendation from supervisors I had worked for at least one year.

6. A letter from The ST. Louis Chief of Police indication I had no arrest record in the US and no outstanding warrants and was "a citizen in good standing."

7. Finally; I had to write a letter about myself that clearly stated why there was no Mexican Citizen with my skills and why my skills were important to Mexico. We called it our "I am the greatest person on Earth" letter. It was fun to write.

All of the above were in English that had to be translated into Spanish and be certified as legal translations and our signatures notarized. It produced a folder about 1.5 inches thick with English on the left side and Spanish on the right.

Once they were completed Barbara and I spent about five hours accompanied by a Mexican Attorney touring Mexican Government office locations and being photographed and fingerprinted at least three times. At each location and we remember at least four locations we instructed on Mexican tax, labor, housing, and criminal law and that we were required to obey their laws or face the consequences. We could not protest any of the Governments actions or we would be committing a felony. We paid out four thousand dollars in fees and bribes to complete the
process. When this was done we could legally bring in our household goods that were held by US customs in Loredo Texas. This meant we had rented furniture in Mexico while awaiting our goods. There were extensive fees involved here that the company paid.

We could not buy a home and were required to rent at very high rates and under contract and compliance with Mexican law.

We were required to get a Mexican drivers license. This was an amazing process. The company arranged for the Licensing agency to come to our Headquarters location with their photography and finger print equipment and the laminating machine. We showed our US license, were photographed and fingerprinted again and issued the license instantly after paying out a six dollar fee. We did not take a written or
driving test and never received instructions on the rules of the road. Our only instruction was never give a policeman your license if stopped and asked. We were instructed to hold it against the inside window away from his grasp. If he got his hands on it you would have to pay ransom to get it back.

We then had to pay and file Mexican income tax annually using the number of our FM3 as our ID number. The companies Mexican accountants did this for us and we just signed what they prepared. I was about twenty legal size pages annually. The FM 3 was good for three years and renewable for two more after paying more fees.

Leaving the country meant turning in the FM# and certifying we were leaving no debts behind and no outstanding legal affairs (warrants, tickets or liens) before our household goods were released to customs.

It was a real adventure and If any of our Senators or Congressman went through it once they would have
a different attitude toward Mexico.

The Mexican Government uses its vast military and police forces to keep its citizens intimidated and compliant. They never protest at their White house or government offices but do protest daily in front of the United States Embassy. The US embassy looks like a strongly reinforced fortress and during most protests the Mexican Military surround the block with their men standing shoulder to shoulder in full
riot gear to protect the Embassy. These protests are never shown on US or Mexican TV. There is a large public park across the street where they do their protesting. Anything can cause a protest such as proposed law changes in California or Texas.

Please feel free to share this with everyone who thinks we are being hard on illegal immigrants.

At least he's publicizing this whole made for TV event exactly for what it is.......a communist inspired workers protest against the evil white capitalists. For the first time in history we're seeing massive protests against the people and system that has fed, educated and medicated millions of illegals who if it weren't for the kindness (or stupidity) of Americans would be living in a lice infested hell hole.

Campbell wasn't even in Congress when HR 4437 was passed.

Not true. He got there just in time for the debate. Campbell even sponsored one of the successful amendments that strengthened the H.R. 4437 bill. At the time it was perceived as a deliberate attempt by House leadership to chastise Tancredo who was pushing an almost identical amendment and to help Campbell establish his tough on illegals credentials after the Gilchrist election. At the time, Tancredo commented something to the effect that he would accept that kind of chastisement anytime they wanted to dish it out.

But you are right that is his record on this issue in the California Legislature was dubious at best.

"This doesn't seem like Campbell at all."

Well I admit I'm a little late to the party myself. The marches really opened my eyes.

It's a soft invasion. George Washington must be turning over in his grave.

Vincente Foxglove is ruling a feudal state. The Mexican people are the serfdom. How does he avoid a bloody revolution to depose the feudal lords of the twenty odd families running Mexico? He exports the peonis to America and banks the wages they send home! He also aids them in illegally entering this country and helps to organize demonstrations in America for 'amnesty' and open borders. The poor Mexicans haven't a clue ... they think Foxey loves them and Mexico is the greatest state since the Magna Carta.
