"Ford says the AFA's message is blatantly misleading. The Ford Motor Co. Fund is a sponsor of the gay pride event, but not of the gay marriage ceremony. "The contribution is designated for children's education and a play area -- nothing more," said Ford spokesman Jim Cain."
Boy, that makes me feel better, money's going to gay education program for children. Doh!
From bad to worse! Doh, indeed.
Ford sales hit by gay ad protest
Meanwhile, Dodge ads hit by fairy protest: Silly Little Fairy?
Actually, owning one Ford is usually enough to convince a sane person that one is more than enough...
Semper Fi
I wasn't aware there were other versions of the F-150. Wouldn't Ford have trademark problems with that? Maybe you meant other half-ton pickups? (I'm with you on the gist of your letter, though).
Don't forget to keep boycotting Toyota for their giving in to the extortion of Jesse Jackson!!
Anyone else here disturbed by "children's education" at a queer pride event? Is this supposed to mitigate Ford's position on this?
Gee, I drive a Crown Vic. I always hoped people would mistake me for an undercover cop, instead of the grandmother that I am. Now I will be wondering if people think I am gay. LOL!
Just dam...
I have to work the Ford Stockholder's meeting next week.
For me it is just another event which the technical crew are expected to do their best, each and every time, doesn't matter the client. Just finished tonight the Bristol/Myer/Squibb Stockholder Meeting load-out. Last week was DuPont Stockholder Meeting.
Look forward to getting back to doing fun stuff like Broadway shows and making films.
No2
Ford made their bed, now they get to sleep in it. That's what happens when you blow off the wishes of 98% of the population to try and market to 2%.
Do you mean Jesse Jackson (Extortus exploitus), described in "the Political Zoo" by Michael Savage ..."the Reverend Vulture is a well-heeled, well-dressed scavenger in sheep's clothing that feeds off the death and decay in the political jungle?" I guess I'll have to forget about the Tundra then; it is a little pricey anyway. Then there are the Honda Ridgeline and the Chevrolet Avalanche to consider, when I decide to replace my trusty Ford F-150.
It was either Ford or GM recently - they made a rule that employees driving foreign cars to work have to park in a more distant parking lot. Some of their best designers are now forced to park there- brilliant engineers who are only pissed off now.
Unbelievable, but that is actually management's concept of positive action.
Quality? They'd rather break into your bank account, transfer $30,000 against your will, then park a pile of scrap in your driveway and claim you bought a car.
Exactly correct, but "blow off" was a questionable choice of words there! ;-)
Because Ford management has the same thought process as Hollywood management which is if you have a social agenda to push maximizing earnings as a goal will have to take a back seat.
But GM has a gay diversity program and supports lesbian and gay community centers.... guess they're out....
BMW targets gays in ads, too....
Oops, so does Subaru...
And VW....
And DaimlerChrysler....
And Toyota....
(get the point?)
That's the guy!!!
Yeah, but compare the ad's!!! any like what Ford is promoting? Do the other car companies openly support Gay pride days, and donate money and cars ?

It is one thing to have a gay diversity program, my own company does, it is another to promote that 'diversity'.
And let's pretend that ALL the car companies are just as bad as each other as you are trying to paint the picture of ... let's then start with Ford and wake them up one at a time. Or do 'normal' folks remain in the closet and let apathy prevail?
The heck with them all! I'll wait until there is a place to go that is sane. My truck should be good for another ten or fifteen years; I'll see if we still have a country in ten or fifteen years. Maybe it will be a Communist Chinese truck or an Islamist truck by then.
