Former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani said on Monday that he was seriously exploring whether he has "a chance" of winning the presidency in 2008

Not a chance....next!

Sorry, Rudy, but any candidate who can't get the votes of the religious right, the NRA and 2nd Amendment voters, plus the rest of the voters who are at least conservative in regard to economic issues, is a LOSER unless running as a Democrat, which is truly where Guiliani belongs IMO. By rights, Guiliani should do as well as Arlen Specter did when he ran for President as both hold many of the same views with Arlen slightly to the right of Guiliani.

I think Rudy would be an excellent VICE-Presidential candidate. He doesn't have a snowball's chance of winning the GOP Presidential nomination ... but Rudy is a hawk on defense and terrorism, he's still extremely popular with a lot of MOR people in this country, and he has shown definitively that if something drastic happens, he's a man who can handle the situation, whatever it may be. All of these are excellent qualities in a Vice President. I hope he keeps his name in the ring just to "show willing," so that the eventual GOP nominee will snag him for his (or her) VP.

"I don't know what we're all so upset about," he said, referring to concerns about the economy and rising costs, such as gas prices.

He's as out of touch as GW plus pro-abort and pro-gay agenda...

I'll pass...

The Republicans in Iowa would never support Giuliani in their caucus if some bible thumper is campaigning. If I remember correctly, both Gary Bauer and Alan Keyes each scored about 15% of Republican caucus-goers in 2000. That's nearly a third.

...if Republicans are to be a majority party, they need to accept politicians like himself who support abortion rights, gay rights and gun control.

WRONG! There is a party which supports that platform already. If the Republicans want to ensure they are not the majority, they can embrace those positions. (HINT: Rudy, those are not the values which got the Republican majority elected.)

Everybody on this board who knows me knows how pro-life I am. Keep that in mind as you read the following:

If it comes down to Giuliani vs. McCain, I will crawl across broken glass to vote for Rudy.

I hope it won't and we'll have a pro-lifer to vote for, but if it does I will vote for almost any Republican over McCain. He is far more trouble than his pro-life record makes up for.

He better watch out and not get in the way of Congressman Steve King. That guy has it all on the money. Congressman King should be running for President.

I've never been impressed by Rudy.

But, frankly, if he can convince conservatives that he's "wised up" and will sincerely represent their interests...

Obviously he has a very, very tough road.

Good to see him campaigning for Republican candidates- that may get him a cabinet post anyway.

NY Slime article.

A homosexual staffed newspaper seeking to push a pro-homosexual candidate.

No way, no how, not going to happen.

Zero dollars outside the deviant circles and political poison to those who do contribute.

If Guiliani doesn't get more serious than what he is doing now he'll never have a chance. McLame already is hiring political people in the first primary states which takes time. Rudy doesn't have an organization, he can't win without one.

He's a moderate Republican and would be the best damn POTUS for the dangerous times we're in. He would have my vote. I think he could win by toning down the anti-gun stature he maintained before 911 but he doesn't seem as much of a anti-gun type guy nowadays after 911 now does he?
