Please eleaborate. What would the President need to do to show he's not "out of touch?"

True, and I'm open-minded about him, if not wildly enthusiastic.

As nominee he would suppress the entire moral component of the Republican voter base. Do you think that's a good idea? You know I'm pro-life, and I'll back a pro-lifer as long as McCain is not the only one in the field.
That said, don't forget we HAVE to win this one.
You see, there are many ways we can fight abortion, and some of those ways are things no pro-choice president can block. There is one way we will surely lose the War on Terror, and that is President Hillary.

Who cares how many people vote for Rudy the "republicrat" if he is not going to bring conservative values and leadership to the table!

Just out of curiousity, what would you do if it was a Rudy v. Hillary race?
Vote for a third party candidate. Could that put Hillary over the top? Possible. Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is that from an outcome perspective, a Hillary presidency with a conservative congress fighting her tooth and nail would be preferrable to a Republican congress passing pro-gay, pro-abortion, pro-gun control legislation that is palatable to a President Rudy.

Rudy would be the most fiscally conservative president we could possibly have and I don't buy the hysteria that he would confiscate guns. If Clinton didn't do it, you can bet Rudy won't.

They have looked 15 years down the road and see a huge Hispanic voting bloc, and have decided to pander to it. Yep. They have no idea that if we take care of border security, not only will a lot of Hispanics be 100% enthusiastic about it, but everyone will take a secure border as a fact of life and it will not figure in voting decisions for 95% or more of the electorate.

You cannot seriously believe that Rudy, liberal as he is, would not be noticably different from Hillary Clinton.

If Rudy's statement on gun control is proof he will take our guns, why weren't Clinton's statements on gun control proof that he would grab our guns?

Not vote.
"What would you do if it was Abe Lincoln vs. George Washington? Neither matchup is going to happen, so why debate how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?"
Vote for George Washington.

So, for those who are excited about Allen, I'm genuinely curious to know just what it is that has you excited. In spite of what the Naysayers of FReeRepublic(TM) say George Allen is one of the most dynamic speakers and leaders out there today. He's solid on his positions on the issues (but not a knee-jerk conservative like some want). He's one of the hardest working, intelligent and exciting candidates out there.
I wish he could still be Governor. But I'm glad to have him as my Senator.

I can't help but wonder what the fascination is.
I went to his website to see exactly what he stands for and I came away with nothing.
He has a tab that says he has Jeffersonian beliefs, but when I click on it all I see are links to donate or make pledge of support. Since there can be so many ways to interpret "Jeffersonian values", I'd really be interested in knowing exactly what it is he stands for. I worry about his stand of Second Amendment issues and am still looking for a reliable source.

I had the pleasure of seeing Allen appear befuddled and bewildered by the likes of Barbara Boxer a few months back on tv. Yes, you've told us about your ONE experience of seeing Allen dozens, if not hundreds of times.

"You cannot seriously believe that Rudy, liberal as he is, would not be noticably different from Hillary Clinton."
Not when it comes to guns, abortion, liberal judges and every other issue that RINOS stab conservatives in the back on. At least if Hilary were prez there would be a targetable opposition.
Even if Rudy had a bad first term, Republicans would continue to support him.

Yes, he is probably busy with his senate reelection campaign. Exactly. All this talk about the White House is generating criticism from the RAT opponents in his Senate race.
