And it most certainly is!
If they keep on pushing it, the politicians or government won't have a chance to handle things. Someone is going to get killed -- this whole thing is beyond stupidity and the ignorant masses are getting sucked into, basically, killing fields.
You know, if Democrats had been in charge on the Titanic, no one would have survived, because they'd have kept filling the lifeboats until they all sunk.
Actually, they themselves would have survived by reserving one big lifeboat for themselves.
Given that a lot of people on the streets 'protesting' yesterday were American citizens, where were the "12 million illegals"?
Lots of lessons learned yesterday. I hope our -R- politicians learned something.
With their psychotically provocative behavior, these radical lunatics of the Left are moving the ideological goalposts of this debate toward the restrictionist Right.
Whose side is Podheretz on?
This is the most comprehensive online poll I've seen so far:
costs presented by illegal aliens at a time when the economy is growing at a rate near 5 percent, personal incomes are up, manufacturing is skyrocketing and unemployment is near historic lows
As any bean counter knows, the balance sheet is where the real shuffle takes place. In the case of illegals, one cannot reasonably assert that they are not having a negative impact on Fed/State liabilities.
It's the knowledge of back-loaded debt that supports criticism of the so-called economic benefits that illegal aliens represent to this country.
Lemura
Clueless!
Thx for posting this.
I enjoyed yesterday's "Day without Illegals"....Can we make it permanent?
I've been thinking about this whole protest thing - it seems to me that primarily they are asking for "benefits" although they are not citizens, they are looking for "benefits" - from America, benefits that they cannot get in their own country. Now, that is really odd.

"Unless they wise up, by the time they're through every politician in this country outside the inner cities will be paying lip service at the very least to a serious crackdown on illegal immigration."
Am I missing something here? Is it just me or does this statement seem to be out of step with the gist of the article? I would think he meant every politician will GET SERIOUS ABOUT A "crackdown on illegal immigration", NOT "pay lip service".
Maybe it's just me.
There is already a crackdown on illegals at workplaces in Texas. Illegals are fleeing to other states to avoid being deported. I think we Texans should put up huge signs in Spanish naming the liberal states most hospitable to illegals and encouraging them to move there.
where are all of the "I was fired" news stories today?
ping
An excellent point.
These protests are doing no good whatsoever. Border security first...then we'll go from there.
Exactly right!
