1. The state Senate passed a resolution in support of the May 1 rally which blocked traffic in the business district of Los Angeles and encouraged people to not spend money or work. Besides trying to harm the state economy, the elected officials in Sacramento punched in to get paid for the day and then left immediately to join the rallies.
2. Activists compare their rallies to the Civil Rights movement, a movement of legal American Citizens who were protesting for equal rights as citizens.
3. Activists say they are carrying on the tradition of Cesar Chavez, who was AGAINST illegal immigration.
4. In true union tradition, Mexican workers who planned to go to work on Monday were threatened with physical harm by rally supporters.
5. LAUSD initially said kids who skipped school Monday would be fined for truancy, but later announced that anyone who skipped school could make it up later. Over 71,000 geniuses skipped school to attend the rally in downtown LA. Meanwhile the CA Teachers Association is running ads saying the reason kids aren't getting into college is because the school system doesn't have enough money for guidance counselors.
It goes on...
I like the middle finger thing. I was thinking the same thing!
They should take off every Monday
Cinnamon Girl -
I love your captions! Keep up the good work.
Friday!
Fridays too!
I think we should make an exception for the burrito guy, he makes a good point. LOL
I just wish that the hardworking tax paying Americans here would get any praise from its government for the work it does.
The governmment is either patting itself on the back for what it does or blames us for all the problems and its lack of money.
It has been many years since anyone in government thanked the American people for anything.
I loved your captions!
Nice work, Cinnamon Girl. I especially like your comments!
Funny, the 405 was jammed again this morning.
All the 20 year old Datsuns and Toyotas with
5 nodding heads and a driver were back.
Don't expect any gratitude from the pampered poodles in the ruling class. Government income can never be cut, not even a measley 1% or there is a hew and cry about all the "essential" services that will have to be cut. Of course, every boondoggle these grifters approve is "essential" to their re-relection. We are just the drones who have to bring the pollen to the hive.

No exceptions! I don't need any stinkin' illegal burritos!
71,000 geniuses! LOL
It has occurred to me that 'boycott' has no exact equivalent word in Spanish. I think most participants in yesterday's 'boycott' regarded the thing as some sort of gringo three day weekend. Judged by my local Wally World yesterday, most of our illegals went shopping. I went shopping too. I think Uno de Mayo will turn out to be a great day for the consumer economy.
OKAY, everyone.....ready to start mowing your own lawns and making your own burritos? It really isn't that hard.
bump
You're fast. I heard a 411 operator on the radio yesterday say that they had a lot less "accented" callers on Monday, but those who did call were looking for the numbers to the welfare office, and other benefit programs.
May I take your order?
Yes, I want two Burritos, hold the Mexicans please.
Okay, I have two Burritos, with no Mexicans, is that all for you today?
Yes!
Your order comes to $4.69, please pull around to the window for your order.
I think you guys are all missing it.
When global warming creates massive storms that destroy the Northern hemisphere, the borders will need to reverse flow and Mexico will have to let us all in to escape.
I know this will happen because I saw it in a Hollywood movie.
