I was watching a newscast and noticed a young man giving a sign to a marcher and collecting money for it. Do the sell the protest signs? If so, do they pay taxes on the proceeds or are they exempt?
Just seems odd to buy a sign for a protest, if you feel passionate enough about something to protest wouldn't you make your own sign?

I didn't actually see a man pass money to the person giving him the sign, but the news I was watching showed a big barrel with money in it and said that was for people to contribute. I wondered what they were contributing to, so it probably was for the cost of ALL the professional signs.

One of the sponsers was UNITE HERE which is a service union and you know you must pay union dues. :-)
