Arlen doesn't even believe his own explanation, notice the total lack of passion.

Oh no, Specter is considering a secret session of the full congress. This is Arlen vs. the President. The President had better be watching out, because Arlen is very clever. It also appears that the publishers of the NYT, the WaPo and others have enlisted Arlen to protect them.

It's pretty clear that these guys think they are entitled to special treatment when they commit crimes.

Anyone listening to the House Judiciary Committee hearing on the search of Rep. Jefferson's office? One of the witnesses is Jonathan Turley and there is another guy there whose name I don't recall, both of whom have already previously testified that the President ought to be impeached over the NSA program.

You mean the witnesses? I don't know, but presumably at least Sensenbrenner and Conyers had a hand in it. I think the congresscritters are going to hear lots about how very special they are and how their widdle rights are NOT to be trampled upon.

They are NOT above the lawIf we do a drinking game based on how many times they repeat this phrase, all the while believing that they are, we would die of alcohol poisoning. Former Rep. Walker calls it a "raid on Congress" and bemoans the fact that they did not take into account the "feelings" of the House leadership. They are working very hard to convince the public that this is an outrage that ought to have us storming the White House with pitchforks.

I tuned in a bit ago and heard the Rep from California (R) giving his misgivings about this "raid" and also a couple of (D's). Seems as all the "witnesses" are against the "raid". What gives?
Is there anyone pn the witness list that just might mention Jefferson defied the subpoenas and therefore the law? Probably not.

Congress is not a sanctuary to commit crimes by accepting bribes and selling out our country for their own personal means
If they go down this road .. they will find themselves out of office
