"The amnesty issue is being distorted. This is not about the rights of people here legally or of equal rights -- it is about people who are here illegally wanting everyone to ignore the fact that they broke the law to get into this country," said Project 21 member Geoffrey Moore.

I thought this whole thing would be insulting to black people. I'm glad I was right.

Black leadership in advocating the right of ILLIGAL ALIENS to protest and boycott are not being pragmatic nor realistic.

Blacks only hope is to join Whitey and fight for their birthright. Blacks will be the first to suffer under Hispanic political control.

As proponents of amnesty for illegal aliens stage nationwide protests and work stoppages, members of the black leadership network Project 21 point out that the movement's comparison of illegal aliens' quest for preferential and expedited citizenship benefits bear no comparison to the hardships endured by African-Americans during the civil rights era.

I'm glad that the black community seems to be onboard with this. Or at least some of it.

I was wondering how long this would take. The "black entitlement" political hacks are now worried that the "illegal immigrant" political hacks will take their power and money.

Seems like this amnesty-for-aliens is getting its butt kicked everywhere except in the Senate and from President Bush. I suppose we are expected to believe that amnesty will be OK as long as we insist that the National Anthem is sung in English.

The civil rights movement was a fight for justice and equality. Illegal immigrants are fighting the rule of law."

It isn't about Civil Rights, it's about millions of invaders over throwing the rule of law in this nation.

From CNN.com:

Even some of those who supported the earlier protests have called for caution in Monday's rallies. Cardinal Roger Mahony of Los Angeles and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa last week urged parents not to let their children leave school for the demonstrations. Some immigrant groups have warned workers not to take part if it would cost them their jobs. (Watch the debate on the merits of a boycott -- 2:08)

But Christine Neumann Ortiz, who helped organize an earlier Milwaukee protest, said she has seen increased support for immigrants since the earlier demonstrations.

"Particularly, the business community and the African-American and Asian community have really, actually stepped forward this time in a way that they didn't just a couple of months ago," she said.

Looks like they're trying to spin it in spite of black protests. Why in the world would the black community be happy about this uncontrolled illegal immigration? Stupid liar.

I love the split between the brown/black coalition.

AFAIK, "Rainbow" Jackson is missing in action.

Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), who introduced legislation to grant permanent residency status to long-term illegal aliens, said on "Democracy Now" radio: "My bill attempted to craft this as a civil rights issue... I believe (amnesty) is a civil rights question."

She also believes that hurricanes need to be given African-sounding names for equality's sake.

Blacks have been worried for some time about losing their MFM status (most favored minority); what with women being a larger group than the total blacks, never mind that over half of the blacks are also women, add in the burgeoning hispanic population from immigration and high birth rate and soon there won't be enough benefits to go around.

They should be complaining.

For anyone not familiar with Project 21:

http://www.project21.org/P21Index.html

Project 21 is an initiative of The National Center for Public Policy Research to promote the views of African-Americans whose entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to family and commitment to individual responsibility has not traditionally been echoed by the nation's civil rights establishment.

Project 21 participants have been interviewed by hundreds of media outlets, including the O'Reilly Factor, Hannity and Colmes, the CNN Morning News, Black Entertainment Television's Lead Story, America's Black Forum, the McLaughlin Group, C-SPAN's Morning Journal and the Rush Limbaugh, Michael Reagan, Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy and Larry King shows, as well as in newspapers such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Washington Times and many others.

Project 21 participants live all over the U.S. and have a variety of careers. What they have in common is a desire to make America a better place for African-Americans, and all Americans, to live and work. Project 21 members do this in a variety of ways in their own communities, and, through Project 21, by writing opinion editorials for newspapers, participating in public policy discussions on radio and television, by participating in policy panels, by giving speeches before student, business and community groups, and by advising policymakers at the national, state and local levels.
