Hello all, I arrived at my local coffee shop/deli this morning to find the doors locked and the lights turned off. I live in Boston so it could be that they were merely celebrating May Day. I tend to think otherwise. Here is the letter I am sending to the owner:

Dear Sir/Ma’am,

Yesterday (May 1st), we were disappointed to find the High Spot Deli closed for business. We can only assume that the closing was in recognition of the national boycott by illegal aliens. We have patronized your establishment on a daily basis and the closing caused an extremely minor disruption to our morning routine. Apparently, that is the some total effect of illegal immigration for us. We survived.

Now that you have spoken to us with your closing, we’d like to speak to you. We will be observing a boycott of our own. We’re calling it “A Day Without Customers” and it is permanent. We will no longer patronize the High Spot Deli.

Your closing in support of illegal aliens spits in the face of the people who make up your customer base. We were all working on Monday and too much of the money we earned will be confiscated on payday in the form of taxes and obscene health insurance premiums. The high amount of these costs is directly related to your hiring of illegal aliens. You are likely paying them a below-market wage and it’s also likely that those wages are untaxed. It is unlikely, however, that you are offering your illegal employees a comprehensive health insurance plan. Thus, in addition to subsidizing all of the government programs and services these people take advantage of, we taxpaying citizens are also paying for 100% of their healthcare.

There are several other costs born by us as a result of illegal immigration. Both you and they are not contributing to social security. Their children are being educated at our expense. And you’re able to pay lower worker’s compensation and liability insurance premiums. In short, both you and they are getting a free ride at the expense of those citizens and business owners who follow the law.

Rather than call attention to the “importance” of illegal aliens to our nation’s economy, the boycott served to identify those businesses that either employ the illegals or at minimum support the illegal's invasion of the United States. It was very easy to see and I assure you that we were not the only consumers to take note. While our politicians refuse to secure our borders and in too many cases openly support this law breaking, we individuals will simply vote with our wallets.

Excellent letter!

Once everything is all figured out, we should go back through the thread, compile a list and have a permanent boycott of all of them.

Note regarding franchised businesses like fast-food chains: they are up to the individual business, not the company.

Very impressive! Would you mind if others (cough, cough) semi-plagiarize, or at least borrow heavily from it? :)
