The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops urged immigrants to attend Mass instead of boycotting, and suggested that churches toll their bells in memory of immigrants who died trying to come to the U.S.BARF!! The Catholic Church really is anti-American. It's all about the money.

I would think that immigrants who are here legally would have a serious problem with rallying support for people who want for free what they had to earn.

Well, well... what I dont understand is, how are these people even daring to protest.
Illegal is illegal. If they show up to do some mexican flagwaving, BCIS shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth, and should take the opportunity to kick them right back ouot of the country.
Thatll put the fear of beelzebub in em.

Has the Catholic Church tolled their bells for the service men and women that have fought to keep this country free and theirfore thier religion viable? Have they tolled their bells for all the inocent babies killed in abortions?
I really don't know, but if they want to toll their bells for anything I would suggest those, not law breaking illegals breaking the law and coming to the United States to mow lawns. They act as if this is somehow heroic?!?!
This is religion at its absolute worst- political and self rightous.
I am not a religous man, but I can honestly say I do not understand how any clear thinking person can follow the modern day Catholic church.

"The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops urged immigrants to attend Mass instead of boycotting, and suggested that churches toll their bells in memory of immigrants who died trying to come to the U.S."
And just when will those bells toll in memory of those killed, robbed, or otherwise brutalized by illegal immigrants?

I wonder what the employers of illegals will do when those illegals skip work. One of the main reasons that employers hire illegals is because the illegals are supposedly desperate for work. In other words, the employers have motivated workers at bargain-basement prices.
However, if these illegals have the luxury to skip work for these protests, it shows how less-than-motivated and reliable these workers actually are. Employers would have more reason to dump them.

Three days ago on Free Republic I saw a thread of the Houston Chronicle about the history of crime committed by undocumented and illegal residents...now I can't find it. Here in Mexico some of my friends asked me to pull it off the Internet, as I tried to explain to them some of the reason Americans are upset with Mexico not being willing to extradite people who committed a crime. SOmebody please point me to the link. Por favor. Gracias

Does the Catholic Church maintain a tax-exempt status? Doesn't that require that they abstain from politics?

Here's a question for y'all - if all the illegals suddenly became legal, wouldn't they have to get all the benefits from employers that we all get? Wouldn't they be able to unionize...so, in the end, who would do all the work Americans won't do for low pay?
