PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President and Mrs. Bush attended St. John's Church this morning, as is their custom when spending the weekend at the White House. Last night they attended the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, where the President and his "alter ego," comedian Steve Bridges, stole the show.
The best review I found is on USA Today's website. Since I'm not sure how much of their material we can excerpt, I'll just provide a link. The article includes a nearly complete transcript of the President's and Mrs. Bridges routine.

LOL....we actually have a neighbor who got rich selling sterilized poop to use as plant fertilizer. He sold them on Home Shopping Network. I kid you not!
It was his idea, he got it done, he sold it, and the money he made ought to be his. No doubt he paid big time taxes since the sales went thru HSN and are recorded.

Doocy was in a cab with 3, maybe 4 people. One of whom was an older woman. Perhaps they are all tougether based on who invited who?
Two years ago, Doocy walked to the event.

Didn't they do patriotic stuff when they had the marine from California on. I can't remember. Boy did Simon dislike that guy. He actually made a recording and I saw him on the Country Music station one time.

They did a very moving patriotic theme the year Josh Gracin was on as our troops were invading Iraq. Josh led the group in singing. I thought they did, but I wasn't sure.

And now ladies and gentlemen, the comedy stylings of Katharine McPhee!
"Did someone just laugh? Who was it? You in the back--did you laugh?
God help you if you laughed at me."
