Does that mean you didn't offer homes to those who most needed them? For example, women who were disabled and could not support themselves, and women whose partners were terrorizing them to the point where they dared not leave their children with anyone, and thus dared not take a job?
Welfare puts people in homes too, and requires them to get a job. I will admit you were better than welfare if you didn't contact the stalking psychopathic partner and give him his victim's address.
We offered them a place to stay at a group home that is safe from abusive spouses. Before they move into one of the single family homes they must get a job. If they didn't want to do that then we were happy to help them apply for section 8 housing. This was a FAMILY shelter, no singles are eligible.
