You just registered today, I have no way of telling if you're telling the truth, and you're bashing Republicans for a position that they don't even hold (everyone thinks assistance should be available for those who really need it). So I'm afraid your tenure here will be short. Hopefully your situation will improve for you and you will see things more clearly.
Really? Count me as one who thinks the Federal Government has absolutely no legal authority to take money from me and give it to someone else, except if that someone else is providing goods and/or services to the government.
As for local governments, I think it should be entirely up to the givers to decide. Takers should not be allowed to vote.

PS I contibuted to Rush's Leukemia Society Appeal on Friday as I do each year. I'm not opposed to charity. I just do not believe that it is up to others to tell me how much of my money I should contribute to avoid prison.
