And he's just the governor of ONE state.
We have FIFTY :D
These Iranian freakazoids are literally in the grip of a deadly cult-within-a-cult, Islamofascism IS a cult, not a religion, and the particular strain that Ahmadjihad and his terrorist buds are infected with believe that by provoking a war, they open the door for their 12th Imam/Mahdi to make a grand appearance and destroy the infidels, blah-blah-blah and all the rest of that noise.
What we need to do, in my not-so-humble opinion, is to give Amadjihad a dose of his own rhetoric, and have someone like SecDef Rumsfeld or VP Dick Cheney give a speech at the United Nations or some high profile venue in which they call out names and make some promises in no uncertain terms, something along the lines of:
"The President of Iran is in the business of making threats, threats to the United States to our ally Israel, to the United Nations, and Mr. Ahmadinejad needs to hear this, and hear it clearly - the day Iran takes any offensive action against the United States or our vital interests, will be the day that Iran ceases to exist, period.
"The policy of the United States shall be that if aggressive military action is undertaken by Iran which causes extensive death and damage to America, that a full nuclear retaliatory response will be launched against Iran, without sanctuary anywhere within Iran's borders. Each and every city and town will be decimated, the entire military-industrial infrastructure will be utterly destroyed and reduced to rubble from one corner of Iran to the other. The United States military forces are more than capable of this. The nuclear missiles contained in just ONE Ohio class Trident submarine are sufficient to lay waste to the entire Iranian nation, and we will not hesitate to do so if attacked.
"The United States has used nuclear weapons only twice in our history, in order to force the unconditional surrender of Japan, then our enemy in 1945. For over 50 years, America's nuclear deterrent has prevented war, however the Iranian people must understand that if their leaders choose to engage the United States in warfare, that it will be their fate to give their lives, all of their lives without exception, for the delusions their leaders believe.
"The choice is Mr. Ahmadinejad's, and the religious leaders who back him, and the Iranian people who must decide if their government is worth dying for."
I think that would spell it out pretty clearly, and it needs to be done and damn soon.
Of course if the US doesn't attack Iran these large sums of money will be refunded to Iran or be used for humanitarian good. It is my experience that money earmarked for evil is used for evil.
We know whose doorstep to lay any terrorist attacks. Moves like this up the ante as the USA might as well just destroy Iran's infrastructure, military assets and oil production capability in one massive strike, rather than a surgical strike on the Nuclear targets.
50? 50. Scary.
In other words, they will try to continue to do what they are doing now.
Not really a Democrat would have to look tough to keep it's 'street creds'. Look at the idiotic actions taken by Clinton.
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
I hear that Iran may have a gun, too! And perhaps some bullets! *gasp* O_O
I am skeptical words and threats will do much to sway them. Guess we'll have to speak softly and carry a big stick.
Anyway, how does threat of nuclear retaliation work against ideologues who believe dying after mass murdering others (jihad "martyr") gets them straight to heaven?
Jeesh,..you'd think they'd at least be able to spell it properly! (Is it pronounced the same way the Aussies pronounce Vegemite??
Judgement Day! Judgement Day! You idiots didnt know it was Judgement Day, did you?...
The actor leaned closer and grasped him by the front of his shirt. Judgement day, he said in a mocking voice. Aint no judgement day, old man. Cept this. Maybe this here judgement day for you.
Flannery OConnor, Judgement Day.
"In other words, they will try to continue to do what they are doing now."
Think what happens when they keep their same methods with drastically superior weapons. Instead of a suicide belt in a cafe or bus, a .... I'm not going to brainstorm for them but I don't think we should underestimate the danger.
You can correctly spell it with or without the e, judgment or judgement both in the dictionary
Think what happens when they keep their same methods with drastically superior weapons. Instead of a suicide belt in a cafe or bus, a .... I'm not going to brainstorm for them but I don't think we should underestimate the danger.
Which is why the U.S. has nothing to lose and everything to gain from striking Iran now to stop them from acquiring The Bomb.
From http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/judgement.html
In Great Britain and many of its former colonies, judgement is still the correct spelling; but ever since Noah Webster decreed the first E superfluous, Americans have omitted it. Many of Websters crotchets have faded away (each year fewer people use the spelling theater, for instance); but even the producers of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, chose the traditional American spelling. If you write judgement you should also write colour and tyre.
Si?
Let's just let the CINCs make their own plan for Iran and lets call it,.."Discernment Day".
I think that's true of the general populace, but Iran is ruled by a theocracy. The ones deciding to attack, the ones funding the terrorists and nukes, are the true believers.
But what is listed is their plan is their intent to attack U.S. Embassies which are legally U.S. territory located in a foreign nation. Therefore, an attack on the sovereign territory of The United States.
