False rumors of random federal immigration raids have sent panic through immigrant communities around the country this week, emptying classrooms, work sites and shopping areas and sending thousands of people into hiding.
Towns in New Jersey and on Long Island have been among those most affected by the snowballing fear, say immigrant advocates and public officials, who described terrified mothers pulling their children from a Head Start program in Freehold, N.J., and deserted streets in usually bustling areas of West Hempstead, N.Y.

Unless you can back that up, the cheap shots are beyond old.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
And listen to their bastardized version of the Star Spangled Banner on FCC licensed Spanish language radio stations.
"These kids have no parents, cause all of these mean laws ... let's not start a war with all these hard workers, they can't help where they were born."
Stop posting '24' spoilers! :-)
BTW, if "rumors" of immigration enforcement can accomplish this, just think what real immigration enforcement would do.
Well, I heard ICE is going to be sending empty busses and thousands of agents to the rallies-- a very efficient way to deport thousands with minimal effort."
That will not happen IMO. Can you imagine the rioting that would cause if they start hauling people aboard buses for deportation. Face it. These protesters have total control. Law enforcement is outnumbered and they know it. The only recourse for officials is to negotiate with the leaders of this movement to keep them from getting out of hand. If this protest march is a big success then we can look for a whole summer of marches that will get bigger and more "in your face". They will stop carrying the American flags and go back to chanting "Gringos Go Home" and there is nothing we can do about it now.
frankly, I hope they DO nail the $(#&*@ illegal who's been using MY social security number !!!
When are we going to get the REAL rumors?
Reminds me of the fun we had as kids back in the '70's. We'd open up the back door of a Mexican restaurant and yell "Emigre! Emigre!" (which meant that Immigration had shown up to bus the illegals away), then stand back and watch the chaos as everyone scattered.
(I know, I'm bad...;^)
well, they should be, but the ICE princess will probably order the border patrol, ICE officers to stand down.
Afterall, California State Senate just proclaimed their support for this protest. The state of California is being held hostage by their own Senate and Assembly. What is Arnold going to do about it.
I heard twice from various sources this week that some local employers have been raided. Particularly, they were contractors working on improvements to an apartment complex.
We're installing lights there Monday- with my crew of proud legal citizens.
Nada.
If their parents don't pay taxes, they should receive no services. Period.
"mothers pulling their children from a Head Start program in Freehold, N.J"
This is one large example of who is behind helping these people stay. Those who work in the Social Service sector want to fill up as many slots as possible - that pads their accounts with our hard-earned tax dollars. No doubt it is not only farms and service industries who want cheap help. It is also Head Start, WIC, welfare, food stamps, etc., stocking more and more social workers on their staff, creating more and more "management" positions to handle the caseload. There are elements within our own society who don't care that it is costing us millions to keep them here because large amounts of those millions are coming back into the pockets of bureaucrats. It is the chumps like us who are footing the bill and finding we have no clout in the matter.
this is a ridiculous sob fiction story, since when are rumors now supposed to be news?
Just he opposite is happening as a result of our politicians pandering to the citizen's of foreign countries knowing full well that these country's people outnumber the US population in terms of future votes.
Insurgents sneaking across our borders are at an all time high, but now they are not sneaking, they are announcing the fact with graffiti, trumpets and castanets.
One good thing, the US public ain't falling for these tales of mothers having to walk three miles over cactus barefoot to to look for their lost kids who were beaten up by cheerleaders anymore.

Take note of the ones that are running away....and send the trucks for them when they return!
And that contains an order to not disturb...where?
