Very good analysis, cobra. This looks like what many might recognize as insurance fraud... 'double billing' AND assignment of benefits to become the payee from the payor when in fact the benefits had already been paid.

He has probably done this to numerous civilians and has not been caught because the enormous cost of funerals would cause extra money never to be missed.

Kinda like when I had my son, I went over the hopsital bill and found charges of over $5 apiece for quite a few Tylenol. I told the insurance company not to pay it and then called the hospital and told them to kiss my rear, I'd taken my own Tylenol to the hospital (and only took them for a headache, mind you, NOT the nearly 10# watermelon that you would find, today in uniform : ). Their response was to tell me I wasn't permitted to take my own Tylenol. LMAO! I said something to the effect of, "You're not the boss of me."

This situation has been hanging for quite some time, look here.

You are very likely exactly correct in that this Marine has done his entire community another service in death. This reaper has probably taken the boots off his last dead man. But this Marine has a bit more insurance the reaper wasn't counting on...

Read it more carefully -- it states that the funeral director is the mayor in the third sentence.

I truely hope all will work out in the end for this poor mom. It is bad enough having lost a son, let alone having to deal with this. It is so sad.

This guy is most certainly a Democrat. His opponent last year is a known Republican even though the mayor's race is nonpartisan.

You're welcome. Just came from another forum, Marine Moms are hot. Here's the response one received:

I saw this on the web this morning and was outraged to say the least. Thanks for posting the phone numbers. I just contacted the City Administrator and asked how it was possible that Mr. Bostick could be sitting as Mayor under such questionable practices. The administrator proceeded to tell me that Mr. Bostick is a armed services vet and businessman. He stated that Mr. Bostick made an error in judgment by not attending the court hearing and that the ruling was a "default ruling" due to his failure to appear. When I questioned Mr. Bostick's other financial shortcomings, the administrator stated that, "like any other businessman, Mr. Bostick incurs debts and it was not something that required investigation." The administrator went on to add that "the reporter from 7news was himself a corrupt individual exploiting Jason's mother. Further, that if Jason's mom was so upset with Mr. Bostick, why did she use his funeral home for her mother's funeral." I gave him a piece of my mind, but I swear, politicians have a spin for just about everythin. I am truly sorry for Mrs. Sepulveda's loss and will keep her in my prayers.

Need more information. The article says a probate court sent him the money and I can't figure that.

This POS has recently declared bankrupty and left many others out of luck.

He was able to keep his two businesses and more. It will be interesting to shine some light on his financial dealings.

Questions like who has title to his vehicles or who is the stock holder on these businesses? Did he set up an LLC with others holding the ownership ?

We need to ask the local papers some questions. Why does it take a Denver TV station to catch this crook ? Are the local reporters asleep ?

Awww man!

I want this P.O.S. in JAIL!

Why doesn't the Governor impeach this guy? He is in flagrant contempt of court and has displayed no intention of satisfying the debt!

What is happening?

We are starting to find out.

It looks like this POS is sticking it to the dead Marine's family.

Please feel free to help.

"Question, Have you ever heard of a real incident of Dungaree Liberty or was it just Sea Lawyer talk? A Skipper could never get away with authorizing these days..."

Sorry it took so long to get back about this......

Really wouldn't have asked our Old Man to authorize anything like that, much less leave evidence to make anyone ask if he knew about it.

As far as relating incidents of Dungaree Liberty, Dirty Tricks Divisions or other extramural enlisted activity, I'll preface everything with the time-honored "This ain't no s***".......

TDC sends BZ.

Good post!

My hunch is that if this all checks out as reported and the POS was dishonest, then it wasn't the first time. What's the bet jewellery has gone missing over the years from more than a few corpses...hell, maybe even fillings too.

only 2 of the 8 people listed had any contact information

Then maybe those two should be contacted.
Continuously and repeatedly, until they get the point.

I thought I heard something on one of the radio shows offering this man's side of the story. It was the funeral of a serviceman where the mother was suing the funeral director and he said he had spent money over and above what the government had paid. I defer judgment on this matter until the full facts are known. I don't think anyone should post his personal data.
