'they hesitated, they lost'

A TV show about the movie was on the other night and, I believe, Todd Beamer's wife said that the military plane ordered to shoot down Fl 93 would not have reached it in time to stop it from going into the US Capitol. The passengers won and they are true heroes. Mrs. Beamer also mentioned that after hearing the black box recorder, she believes the passengers were trying to pull the plane up..they just ran out of time. So it seems, they may have taken back control of the plane.

My husband wants to see the movie and I feel obligated to see it....we will see it tomorrow. I'm sure it will be heart breaking but we must face reality and never forget or underestimate what we're dealing with. God bless America.

It must have been a real mind trip for your family on the planes that day.

I was getting ready for work and had FOX & Friends on and
it was after 5:30am and one of the folks was out on the street because smoke, I watched live just after the first plane went into the towers. I then watched live the second plane circle around and go into the second. I sat there frozen with my mouth open like I couldn't believe what I saw.

I certainly don't seem to be talking to anyone else about this. So there must be something special about y'all that I can talk about it with you :)

One of my friends was on a plane from Boston headed for Washington, DC on a business trip on the morning of 9/11/01. It was scheduled to take off sometime around 10:30am so she never got off the ground. It shook her up for some time.

Another friend lost his son-in-law who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on 9/11. His daughter had been married for less than a year. She's only now beginning to "get on with her life."

When the flight was taken down over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988, I worked with a guy who traveled to one of our factories in Ireland regularly, 2 or 3 times a month. He'd always connect to that flight home, and all things being normal would have been on that exact flight. But he had a chance to go home a day early and took it. We were all very shaken by that too.

These terrorist events touch so many lives. It is upsetting for me to think about all these things, but more important than anything, I don't want to forget what we are up against.

I don't remember any blood levels. They did try different doses with all of them though. Except Wellbutrin, of course.

Oh...kiddo, no you aren't.

My daughter just got married two years ago..and had her first baby last year...and she will be 31 in January.

Besides, never, ever compare your life to others...because what is good for one, is not always the best.

I grew up in the age where girls were just interested in getting married and having children...and I think that is why there are so many disfunctional baby boomers...we didn't take advantage of all there was for us to do...

At least that is my excuse and I am sticking to it....LOL

This place has the most open arms of anywhere!

People know they can ask for prayers, hugs, advice, or just about anything and there will be someone to answer.

Never hesitate to ask for a hug. You'll have to run away from all the mothering. LOL.....

Many of us have had troubles of one kind or another and understand how much it means to have a safe place to chat. This place is it!

I almost never tell people in real life.

Don't worry. The Dose is definitely not "real life."

Hang in there, baby!

We're always around to talk if you need help some bad night.

I'm really glad to hear you're going to see the doctor.

(((Hug)))

I plan to see Flight 93 this weekend - and I'm sure my response will be just like yours: "Let me at 'em!" I heard that the movie starts with one of the terrorists praying while pictures of the Twin Towers were shown. I don't think this shows the director's sympathy for the terrorists or any moral equivalence; it think it shows that the terrorists have a plan to destroy us and use their religion as an excuse.

But back to a-day-in-the-life-of Pres. Bush: it may be that I'm just attracted to gray hair, but I think he gets better looking all the time. Between Pres. Bush and VP Cheney, we conservative women are lucky to have the best looking men. Ever.

The thing with the meds, even if it is helping just a tad, you have to stay on them. Just because you might think, OK I feel better now I don't have to take them, BIG error.
You have to stay on them.

What did you think of "Rebel in Chief"? I've ordered it, but haven't received it yet. I really like Fred Barnes on "The Beltway Boys" - he and Mort Kondrakke (sp?) really mix it up sometimes, but are always gentlemen about it.

Wow, I was trying to respond to you, and FR froze. I couldn't get back on. I guess between Immigration and Flight 93, FR locked up!

ANYway....wanted to let you know that I agreed with you on BOTH counts!

I'd fly with YOU any day!

Maybe it was the Rush threads? I hate it when I can't get onto FR. Patience is not my strong suit.

Wolfstar...what do you think about Saturday's Dose being also a LIVE thread for the WH Correspondent's Dinner?

It's OK with me. Just remember, I'm in the Pacific time zone. According to the C-SPAN TV schedule (LINK), coverage of the dinner starts at 9:30pm Eastern time, 6:30pm Pacific. So while posting the Dose at 6:30pm is no problem for me, it may be quite late for most Dosers who are in time zones to the east of me, and who may not be expecting it to be posted so late in the day.

I'm pinging the other Dose custodians to ask them what they think. It's after 9:00pm here, so you may not be able to respond to me until morning, but I value your opinions.

If the consensus is to do it as a live thread for the correspondents dinner tomorrow, perhaps I can start the thread early and give the ping list a heads up that it will go live at around 9:00pm Eastern. I would leave the thread to do other things and come back at about 6:00pm. Let me know what you think.
