Press Release Source: Rush Limbaugh Reports Stating Rush Limbaugh Was Arrested Are Inaccurate; Limbaugh's Attorney Holds Press Conference at 8:00 pm Tonight
Friday April 28, 7:55 pm ET
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- A spokesman for Rush Limbaugh said some news reports that state Mr. Limbaugh was arrested are inaccurate.Separately, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, Roy Black will hold a press conference at 8:00 pm this evening at the Marriott Hotel at 1001 Okeechobbee Road in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Mr. Black will discuss the agreement reached today with the State Attorney's Office whereby a single count charge of doctor shopping that was filed today by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months.
As previously announced, a primary condition of the dismissal, Mr. Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years. This is the same doctor under whose care Mr. Limbaugh has remained free of his addiction without relapse.
Mr. Black stated, "Mr. Limbaugh and I have maintained from the start that there was no doctor shopping, and we continue to hold this position. Accordingly, we filed today with the Court a plea of 'Not Guilty' to the charge filed by the State.
"As part of this agreement, Mr. Limbaugh also has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation. The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during the 18 month period, must pay $30 per month for the cost of "supervision" and comply with other similar provisions of the agreement.
"Mr. Limbaugh had intended to remain in treatment. Thus, we believe the outcome for him personally will be much as if he had fought the charge and won," he said.

What am I missing? How can you charge someone, allow them to plead not guilty and then not pursue the case?
In Florida, it's called a withhold of adjudication. And it's not at all uncommon. You plead not guilty -- which means you're telling the state to prove it at trial -- and the state comes back and says, OK, if you do X (anger management, stay off drugs for 18 months), we'll drop the charges, you'll get a withhold of adjudication and we'll let you expunge your record at the end.
People react differently to drugs. I had abdominal surgery and was taking four Hydrocodone tablets every four hours for at least a month.
I didn't feel good at all.
And I certainly didn't get addicted.
A few months later when I had a really bad headache, I took one of the two remaining pills. It cured the headache and sent me into euphoria.
I still have the remaining one, although it's probably lost all it's effectiveness.
I've scrolled through the entire thread and haven't found RS crowing about being right. What gives?
That's probably most of it. Plus, the DA would have to prove "doctor shopping" in trial, which would mean he'd have to prove intent. And, I would think the DA might have some difficulty getting testimony from doctors against Rush, and then he'd have to get a jury to find Rush guilty. Rush probably agreed to this deal because he didn't want his whole personal life smeared, either.
RS?
CNN covered up abuses under Saddam to keep their Baghdad bureau open.
They are SHAMELESS in aiding a vile dictator and yet take glee in targeting much lesser individuals simply because they are conservatives.
Can't read the entire thread. Any news re:
Rush's leukemia drive and results? Any way to forward the T to a soldier? One size will surpass my all in quantity anyway.
That's "talent on loan from God".
If your going to be a douche make sure you have your facts straight.
Yea you should have heard Savage when the news broke...he was practically foaming at the mouth slamming Rush...it made me sick.......
Liberals, The DNC, Savage, Those at DU, and Especially the MSM are deeply saddened.
This fiasco is why Rush calls it "Drive-by Media" It's almost as if he fed them disinformation to set them up. Hmmm....
Greta, like Tom Cruise, is a Scientologist.
Nuff said?
Guess you don't know the first thing about this case.
For some reason Savage seems phony...Gives me the creeps.
Tell me where I am wrong.
LOL!! I was wondering where he was too!
While it would have been very satisfying to see Rush give everyone the bird and insist on a trial, I understand the hesitation to place his life in the hands of a Florida jury. Also, who knows how long the DA could have continued "investigating"?
It illustrates perfectly how morally corrupt, cheap and irresponsible the MSM is in this day and age.
Absolutely no concern for any kind of accuracy. Just fit the template and agenda to the "story".
They are totally despicable.
Following in the footsteps of one of their greatest journalists. Only through FR have I learned about a Walter Duranty. He sent back supportive reports of Stalin's Soviet Russia to the USA. Nary a word about the two million souls who died through criminal negligence, gulags and plain murder.
