I am not ranting against you about the Focus on the Family's review...

..but good grief, I am sure that Mr. Dobson himself will find himself swearing if he was in the same position as the military were on 9/11. Chaos, confusion, horror, shock were the rule on 9/11.

Please. We are human.

/rant over/

Actually the Focus on the Family review was pretty positive.

They note the profanity because they know parents want to know these things in deciding whether the film is appropriate for their children.

Also, one interesting note ... Sliney himself says that he was asked to exaggerate the profanity ... so it wasn't strictly "realism":

Sliney did note, however, one thing that was exaggerated for the film: profanity. "They asked me to swear, which I customarily don't do. ... I wanted on that day to be calm and authoritative for all the people on the floor. In a stressful situation, they don't want to see the person in charge getting excited." That added vulgarity is perhaps the only obvious box-office concession in a story that in most other ways is not typical Tinseltown fare.

I know what you mean. This wasn't just for this movie, however. They break every single movie down like that--violience, sex, negative elements, language. It is a guide for parents.

As a Christian myself, I imagine that my language might be a bit colorful in that situation. I pray that I never have to find out just how colorful.

I haven't read Dobson's review...

..but don't fault him for giving an account of what's in a movie.

Many parents rely on Focus's reviews...

Having said this, I doubt he is panning the movie because of this.---He is presenting facts so you can make the choice.

He is honest... across the board... in presenting the content of movies reviewed.

I understand completely. I, too, was shocked that the Focus on the Family reviewer said that the language was inappropriate. What in the world did he expect???
