One of the actors actually was in the Iraqi Army, from what I read about the cast.

I wonder if they are Muslims, the 4 actors? Anyone know?

No, not all of the actors are Muslim.

Jamie Harding, a great English character actor plays the younger hijacker. (He spends the majority of the film in the rear cabin with the other hijacker who has the false bomb).

You may remember him as the young boy in Band of Brothers who awakens Damien Lewis (Winters) from his nightmare on the Paris subway. It was Part 5, if I recall correctly.

One of the reviews, maybe Time's, said that the actors were kept isolated from the other cast members until the hijack sequences were filmed. Separate hotel, buses, etc. Also, one of the four was denied entry into the US following the filming, which took place in England. Don't know if they are Muslims, but I expect some are.

Comments were made about the people playing the parts; they included persons who in real life live the role they play. In addition to the ATC chief and one of the military men, the pilot was a real commercial pilot and the chief flight attendant formerly worked in that position for United.
