As I keep saying, liberalism divides the population into "hosts" and "guests." The "hosts" have to walk on eggshells and not exalt or celebrate their culture in any way (else the society would be fascist), while the "guests" are encouraged to engage in the most militant and mystical exaltation of their cultures (else the society is fascist). Which is why in december chr*stmas decorations are banned from public property while the symbols of other religions are put their (else the society would be a "chr*stian theocracy) and why public schools in California have banned the use of the American flag but not the Mexican one.

Recent events under the new Conservative Government would tend to disagree with that statement. Time to bury the hatchet and get on board with the new reality of Can/Am relations kinda like GWB and Harper have.

The signs are already showing. There are Balkanized regions withing Sweden that are so heavily Islamofascist the police will not enter. These regions are demanding their own Sharia law (as in France). These are mainly Turks who immigrated to Sweden for the free socialist handouts (sound familiar?). Sweden has begun to cutback their socialist handouts since it is a tremendous drain on their economy (sound unfamiliar?).
Just as a FR thought experiment, how would the world be different (better or worse) if the oil fields in the Arabian peninsula and (if possible) Iran were destroyed?

I believe it was Steyn who came up with the phrase "cultural arrogance" to describe not the perceived and widely publicized American arrogance but the real thing coming from people who calmly demand that their host countries change their laws to accommodate them. It is a bit astonishing to note the alacrity with which those "enlightened" souls in government hasten to do precisely that. While I am most unsympathetic to radical bullies I can certainly see why they make those demands - they work.
What gets me is Europeans and “Christian” organizations like the PCUSA falling all over themselves to punish Israel for perceived human rights abuses; yet these same people place little desire to dealing with real threats to mankind and human rights – the Saudis and Iran. In fact they protest any efforts the “willing” want to take to secure us from these real threats.
It has me beginning to regard these people not as simply misguided fools, but friends of my enemy, and therefore my enemies.
