You said -- "Nonsense. The entire might of Nazi Germany couldn't get a nuclear bomb to work."
In time they would have. I understand that there was some misinformation fed to them. It was simply a "matter of time" -- that's all. Details *always* work themselves out sooner or later.
If it's "later" -- you're just as dead in an explosion. It's the same difference. The details *will come* -- sooner or later.
AND -- according to some recent information -- Japan even had a nuclear bomb program. I understand that they were quite far along. This was some history or military channel show. It was quite interesting.
All I can say about the U.S. is simply that *God's providence* was on their side to develop it first and end the war. You can thank God for that -- and not the details.
In this case, God may not be on our side to prevent some kind of WMD attack -- here on U.S. soil. It may be a nuclear bomb, it may be some biological weapon, it may be several other things. And it may happen.
So, I don't worry about details -- because as I said to someone else --
First you *make the decision* -- then you *buy the details*. That's all...
I would say they are well on their way to buying their details.

Germany doesn't have nukes to this very day. How much time do they need?
The Soviets still haven't put a man on the Moon. How much time do they need?
Over-simplifying technical hurdles is the stuff of Hollywood movies and cheap, harlot newsmen.
Details matter. They do not always work themselves out.
