Wrong on Rove - Friday, April 28, 2006 @ 10:25:56 AM
NBC and other news outlets have it terribly, terribly wrong on the Rove grand jury testimony earlier this week, and they keep getting it wrong in the face of the facts they know to be accurate. Today rumors were being circulated by NBC reporters that Rove was being called back for yet another round of questioning.
We've been informed by reliable sources that Rove was not distressed or worried about his testimony earlier this week. That things went well, that he answered the questions readily and that there were no surprises.
The grand jury that Patrick Fitzgerald is using is a sitting grand jury, which meets regularly on Wednesdays and Fridays. That it is hearing a case today - this grand jury is not exclusive to the Joe Wilson scandal - is no news. It hears cases all the time.
Remember, Rove is answering questions about events that he actually assisted Fitzgerald with. When Rove and his legal team discovered information that added to Rove's recolloection, it was handed over to Fitzgerald immediately. And that evidence actually helped Rove's position.

The attack on Rove will probably be amped up now that it's been made public that Rove will be taking on more POLITICAL tasks, forgoing the policy side - at least until after the 2006 elections.
And .. believe me .. the GOP needs all the help Rove can give them.
If Rove had just leaked NSA secrets to the WaPo instead of doing nothing, he wouldn't be having this trouble.../s
as opposed to the clintons who prevaricated, lied and evaded the simplest questions. Hillary's brain died when she was questioned...couldn't remember her own name.
According to the dark side, Rove is in a cell already... but that's no change.
Warning to Chris Matthews and Nora O'Donell: Do not read this. It contains facts that will get in the way of your action line.
Phew, had me worried there. I was afraid that Rove would let the cat out of the bag that he has has Bin Ladins body in his freezer to be thawed out and displayed as part of the October surprise. I am glad this is still safe from the peering eyes of the media ;-)
Nora was having multiple orgasms last night over this. It was fun to hear her laugh and moan. She's just too fun to watch.
Prosecutor Weighs Perjury Charges Against Rove
Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald "is expected to decide in the next two to three weeks whether to bring perjury charges against Karl Rove," the New York Times reports.
"With the completion of Mr. Rove's fifth appearance before the grand jury on Wednesday, Mr. Fitzgerald is now believed to have assembled all of the facts necessary to determine whether to seek an indictment of Mr. Rove or drop the case."
MSNBC: "Sources close to Karl Rove say the presidential adviser is now more worried, not less, that he's going to get indicted. The sources say Rove was surprised by some of the questions he was asked, and by the fact the session stretched on for three and a half hours."
This is being completely driven by the press.
Until he's charged, I don't buy one word of it.
BTW, Betty Currie made five trips to the GJ, too.
Keep bringing witnesses back until they say something contradictory to previous testimony.
It's hard to see this any other way.
what's another three weeks after three years. unbelievable. Then there's that other guy who just wrapped up an investigation into something that happened in the Clinton era - long after we all had reason to forget about it - after 11 freaking years. I sure am losing a lot of trust in prosecutorial discretion.
Howlin, I wonder if Betty ever got her Bible back from sinkEmperor after his media event walk into church?
Ambition can be corrupting. DA's are very ambitious.
It's probably still under her bed with all the other stuff he gave her to keep!
Rove is in trouble for his first "deposition." The subsequent ones were to "explain" his poor memory about Cooper I think. Of course, Fitzgerald is eager to bag the biggest fish his net can reach.
