Here is a Sunday Offering for you - -

=========================================

=========================================

A man and his dog were walking along a road.
The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred
to him that he was dead.
He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him
had been dead for years.
He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along
one side of the road. It looked like fine marble.
At the top of a long hill, it was broken by
a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate
in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl,
and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.
He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer,
he saw a man at a desk to one side.

When he was close enough, he called out,
"Excuse me, where are we?"

"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.
"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.
"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water
brought right up."
The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
"Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?"
the traveler asked.

"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."
The man thought a moment and then turned back
toward the road and continued the way
he had been going with his dog.

~ ~ ~

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill,
he came to a dirt road leading through
a farm gate that looked as if it had never
been closed. There was no fence.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside,
leaning against a tree and reading a book.
"Excuse me!" he called to the man.
"Do you have any water?"

"Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."
"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.
"There should be a bowl by the pump.

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an
old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.
The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself,
then he gave some to the dog.
When they were full, he and the dog walked back
toward the man who was standing by the tree.

"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.
"This is Heaven," he answered.
"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said.
"The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."

"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates?
Nope. That's hell."

"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"
"No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who
would leave their best friends behind."

Soooo...
You are all welcome @ my water bowl anytime .

Jesus is with us when life seems like a beautiful
carpet of flowers and there when we seem lost
in dark and frightening woods.
Be confident for His Love is Eternal

John 14:1-3
1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me.

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not
so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am,
there ye may be also.

Thank you so much for the devotional! Verse 3 of that Psalm is my favorite:

He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.

Amen.

Surrendered Crowns

You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power. —Revelation 4:11

ODB 2006 04 Small

Once during her reign, England’s Queen Victoria listened to a chaplain preach a sermon about the second coming of Christ. Those near the royal box noticed that the queen’s eyes were filled with tears.

When the service ended, she asked to see the chaplain alone. Seeing her great emotion, he asked why she was so moved. She replied, "Because of what you said about the coming again of the world’s rightful King, I wish still to be here when He returns that I might lay my crown at His blessed feet!"

There are many incentives for faithful service that involve both our acts and our motives. These rewards, which are designated as "crowns" in the New Testament, are to be earned by those who have first received the gift of eternal life.

Perhaps you’re saying, "I would never expect to be rewarded for what I do for Christ." Have you considered what you may do with any crown you receive on that day? There will be no trophy cases in heaven; no gloating over earthly accomplishments. Redeemed sinners will have the transcendent joy of casting their crowns before the throne and saying, "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power" (Revelation 4:11). Paul Van Gorder

Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns
All music but its own!  —Bridges

Heaven’s crowns are not for keeping but for casting at Christ’s feet.

This is one of my favorite songs.. I request it to be played in Church all the time..

Dave that link will be helping me out alot as I will be helping lead the church in music.. The Lord definately used you to get this to me..

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he's waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.

Refrain
Come home, come home;
ye who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

2
Why should we tary when Jesus is pleading,
pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,
mercies for you and for me?

3
Think of the wonderful love he has promised,
promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me.

Dear God...

I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blessed
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

I have this circle of Email (FR) friends,
Who mean a lot to me;
Some days I "send" and "send,"
At other times, I let them be.

I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dictate to them,
Because to me they are the "Most"!

When I see each name download,
And view the message they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And "well wishes" were their intent.

So to you, my friends, I would like to say,
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,
This comes right from my heart.

God bless you all is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend";
I pray God will keep you safe,
Until we talk again.
