We have been in conversations recently at my office - commenting on the sudden arrogence/bravado coming from Iran. Several made the comments, "it is almost as if Iran already had the weapons."

What is giving the lunatic president of Iran the confidence? He is insane (obviously) - or might at least HE think this is true?

If true wouldn't they (suit case nukes)have a radiation signature?

"Al-Qaida and Iran," he says, "have a long, secret relationship." "American Hiroshima" is the name al-Qaida leaders chose for their long-planned nuclear attack on the U.S.

Thank you, Jimmy Carter.

I am obviously not an expert ... but I sense the false male macho Islamic bravado that turns out to be a bunch of Shiite in the end.

Bush would rather cower behind the skirts of the U.N.

He has become a pathetic figure.

While I agree that that false bravado is prevalent amongst these idiots, and I suspect Iran and Al Qaida have no reason to wait for a strike on Iran to detonate their nuke, I also must say that the ability to smuggle one into the US has got to be a cake walk.

They might believe they have nukes in our country, but I suspect Al Qaeda is reaching the point where it is more bluster and bluff than substance.

If there were nukes in our country, they'd have used them before the last election. They'd have used them to try and get our President. The fact that they haven't used them yet, means they don't have them, or can't get them into the country.

Of course, now that the liberal leakers have demolished the effectiveness of our secret interrogation prisons, and our eavesdropping program... It just got a heck of a lot harder to stop terrorist attacks aimed at American soil.

World Nut Daily have been pushing Nuke Suitcase bomb stories even before they were pushing Y2K stories.

Mostly in agreement with you. My only difference is with targeting. We may be the Great Satan but we're #2 on the target list. If they had nuke(s) Israel would be a parking lot. They are single minded in their hatred, so there is no way they would pass on that opportunity.

I don't know if I buy this. Lots of folks in government are going around pounding their chests and saying "see, we've got 'em on the run because we haven't been hit since 9/11".

One thing a lot of folks seem to forget is the plot that lead to 9/11 was YEARS in the making. Our enemy is patient and willing to wait until the time is right and I think that is exactly what is happening now.

Joseph Farah / WordNetDaily has been pushing this suitcase nuke story for years. I think those suitcase nukes, if they ever existed, wound up in the lost/unclaimed luggage department at the airport.

I don't know, but would think so if they were unshielded, but not much if shielded. I don't see your point. Surely it is not that they could not possibly be in the country because of that.

"From Mexico, he said, the weapons were to be transported across the border and into the United States with the help of a Latino street gang."

Family values don't stop at the US/Mexican border and it appears neither do suitcases nukes or terrorists. Thanks alot Washington D.C.

I agree with you on that actually. I was just running with the premise outlined in the article that we were the target.

At the moment, I'm sure the terrorists think that if they can take us out, the world won't blink when they take out Israel. Taking out the U.S. would be key in securing mass support for attacking Israel anyhow. If anything, they'd threaten and bully the Muslims into joining or dying... using nuclear bully sticks.

What I think is most likely is that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, it will hold its own cities hostage against American action. If we bomb their nuclear program, they kill a few million Iranians, and maybe nuke Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq in the bargain. That way, they can make it look like our fault.
