No matter. Given their low birthrate, the Spaniards -- as will the rest of Continental Europe -- will once again find themselves ruled by the Moors. Shari'a will be the law of the land and all of this 'progressive' thinking will come to an end.
No matter how forward-thinking your mode of living, no matter how advanced your technology, if you're not carrying your genes into the next generation, your kind will become extinct.

If gorillas actually are as bright and even-tempered as what I read indicates then there is a totally simple and elegant way to take them off the endangered species list: teach them ALL to sign the way Koko does and allow them to earn their livings the same way all the rest of us do. They're typically five to ten times as strong through the arms and shoulders as we are and could be put to good use any number of ways.

Considering that the people of Spain may one day wake-up and try to vote the socialists out of power, I can see the socialist dictator wannabes getting the apes to vote (socialist, of course).
After all, even using the dead and made-up names to vote didn't give the leftists in the US enough votes in 2004. Maybe apes will work for the Spanish leftists...
