Rendell says he signed pay raise to 'kiss a little butt' By Brad Bumsted STATE CAPITOL REPORTER Thursday, April 27, 2006
HARRISBURG -- Gov. Ed Rendell told a group of Bucks County business people he signed last year's pay raise to "kiss a little butt" with the Legislature and ensure continued enactment of his own agenda.
That's a "jaw-dropping statement" that says it all about the governor and the "danger of another four years" with the Philadelphia Democrat in office, said Lenny Alcivar, spokesman for Republican Lynn Swann, Rendell's opponent.

"Gov. Ed Rendell told a group of Bucks County business people he signed last year's pay raise to "kiss a little butt""
This is a perfect example of why I REFUSE to consider our elected representatives as our "leaders". A crude, dumba$$ comment worthy of a seventh grade boys gym locker room.
Statesmanship at it's finest.

Don't sell yourself short, Eddie. I reckon there are some big butts in the Pennsylvania legislature. There certainly are in ours.

I wouldn't start popping the champaign bottles yet...
Earlier this week Swann endorsed Senator Bob Jubleier for reelection. Jubelier was one of the prime movers behind the legislative pay-grab, and is facing a spirited primary challenge from another Republican. Swann is going to have a hard time using this issue if he keeps cozying up to people like Jubelier.

i wonder if the inquirer will print this. i highly doubt it. but lynn swanns voting record and the unverified claim he doesnt pay taxes on sports memorablia will probably be front page news again come november.

Pay attention friend. Doesn't matter what Swann does, he has an "R" next to his name.

Huge mistake on Swann's part. I personally am not voting for anyone in office here in PA especially Jubleier after the pay raise fiasco.

I've had remarkable success in getting seven major initiatives enacted into lawI wonder how many of these 'initiatives' were tax increases.

Let's not forget about Gov. Rendell denying our service personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other places overseas, in the 2004 Election (Pennyslvania military votes were excluded).
Time to refresh the memories of Pennsylvania voters and of Pennsylvania Veteran Groups about the real Fast Eddie Rendell...
