I was thinking about that song just the other day, and how I was about 24 when I first heard it, but now I am the old man. How did that happen so fast? Still, I was never anything like he was, or is.
"...and hanging out in downtown Santa Cruz with some really sleazy old hippie chicks...
...at The Catalyst."
Hey, Dana Priest went to UC-Santa Cruz! Watch it! ;)
Why is he mad at Bill Clinton?
Or, the Henry Mello Center. How about the Windjammer?
Man, what a dive...
His lyrics have gotten to become ridiculous childish tripe.
It sounds like a poem some high school drop out tree hugging moron would write.
oh wait...
Four Planes Coming
W/o apology to Neil Young (Four dead in Ohio)
Four planes with ragheads coming
They've finally met their call
That morning we heard them coming
Thousands died in the fall
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers can save us all
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And all that she had done
How can they claim, they did not know?
Osama and Saddam were coming
Salmon Pak was their home
In Sudan they heard the drumming,
but no one picked up the phone.
Gotta get down to it
Soldiers can save us all
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And all that she had done
How can they claim, they did not know?

Not only does a southern man not need him around, niether do 99% of non-Liberal and mentally fit Americans.
He was probably stupid before the dope.
"I can't believe I am the first to quote the obvious lyrical rebuttal:"
Only because you got here B4 I did...
Tin Soldiers and Clinton's coming
We're finally on our own
In April we heard the drumming
Cult dead outside Waco
Neil Young sucks. He sounds like an old grandma singing on her porch and his lead guitar sounds like a cat being choked with a vice grip.
When someone claims to have had "their" religion stolen that's a sure sign they probably don't have a clue about Christianity.
Whoo boy! I remember when this guy was really good.
These lyrics are so pedestrian and juvenile it's pathetic. Absolutely nothing clever, witty, or artistic about them at all. Downright high-schoolish. On one level I'm disappointed that this is apparently what Neil's writing has sunk to these days. (It's tough to see the heroes of our youth getting too old to cut it anymore.) On the other hand I'm glad there's nothing to worry about as far as this silly little ditty catching on. Whew, that's for sure.
The really sad part is that his brain was fried before the drug usage.
Oh, I see.
Which, of course, is the most important point!
Say again!
those are the lamest set of lyrics I have ever seen...Is it too many years of drugging or Alzheimer's - maybe both?
LOL. I gotta remember that one.
