Babies are often saved from death when Christians speak out on their behalf at their local abortion mill.
A baby was saved today in Richmond as a couple drove into RMCW. They were shown the front cover of our flyer with a picture of a preborn girl and the caption, "She's a Child, not a Choice." They looked at it for a while and then parked the car. After talking for some time to one another they left the premises without entering the clinic.
You can find lots of helpful informatiom on sidewalk counseling at http://www.lifeandlibertyministries.com/archives/cat_sidewalk_counseling.php
When Christians show up, babies are saved.

If even one life is saved, it is worth it.

The Talmud, emphasizing the importance of each individual life, says, If during the course of your own life, you have saved one life, it is as if you have saved all humankind.

It is wonderful that you are in this ministry...but what happens to the mother now? Does your ministry support her in the months ahead in terms of helping her find a job, childcare, adoption agencies, shelter, etc.?

Sounds like that's a little bit more like the mother's responsibility to me.

Does your ministry support her in the months ahead in terms of helping her find a job, childcare, adoption agencies, shelter, etc.? Why do you just assume she needs those things? There is nothing in the post that implies any economic hardship on her part.

Are you suggesting economic hardship is a reason for Murder?
Take a hike.

Because they talked her into not ending a baby's life, doesn't mean now they are responsible for her life.

Is that what is important, ultimately? If so then maybe someone should buy that child an IPod. : )
But yes, there do exist services like that as well...
The message if you believe in this practice is - give time to informative sign waving and give money to facilities that support women.

Great news - thanks for posting!

By the way, I ocassionally stop to talk to the old folks holding sign on Rockville Pike in Rockville Maryland - over by the Montgomery Community college. They are usually there on Saturday morning.
They are from a local Catholic church.
They've shared with me that they have seen many couples leave the facility after observing their peaceful message.
Now I don't think someone would leave a facility in fear of old Catholics, just to go to another mill (REDbob).

Good post. I like the fact that the women entering the clinic were provided *all* information possible. Not just "it's OK to have an abortion...you're in, you're out, it's done, no worries."
The women that I've know who have had them, needed significant therapy afterwards. Feminists don't mention those sort of tidbits.
I used to be completely pro-choice, until I became a Dad. Now, my stance has changed quite a bit.

Of the half a dozen or more in my area that I'm aware of, the answer is "absolutely". There are also social service programs that assist, too.

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. There are ministries out there that will outfit your nursery, provide clothing, diapers, prenatal care, everything all for free. We just donated my son's crib and most of his nursery furniture, bedding et all to one. We were thrilled to help. They were thrilled to get such great stuff in mint condition--the kid never slept in the crib--he preferred the co-sleeper next to the bed so he could hear his dad snore.

Even if one life is saved.
Very true indeed, there could never be a dollar value put on human life and, if anyone thinks other wise, ask them how much
they are willing to sell them selves for?
