There is a lot of complaining, whining, lying, misleading, and really bad analysis going on right now vis-a-vis high gas prices. The latest I saw (early this morning) was an analysis that shows a lack of parity between the percentage increase in the price of a barrel of oil and the price of a gallon of gasoline at the pump. Look, I am not an economist or an expert on these matters. But rather than just moaning about the price of gas and then uttering some disembodied, meaningless statistic I heard from some dude, I have actually been listening to experts over the last few days. And, as with just about everything, to more I learn about an issue, the more I realize how important it is to study things before making snap judgments or determining a personal policy position. Here's the scoop as I now understand it...
The price of a gallon of gasoline is only partially determined by the price of a barrel of...

Maaaaan! I'm tryin' to lose 30 and I get involved in posts about food!
It's a conspiracy!
I want to know why Fox insists on going to hacks who can't be happy for Tony....have to insert their insults.
You can eat the Roast Beef but not the bread.
That's a daily SOP.
Fox is giving air time to the hacks to show they ARE hacks. The MSM puts on liberals that can hold their tongues or they'd look like idiots, and nobody would vote for them. Fox lets them make fools of themselves.
From your keyboard to my waistline!
Was that a pig I just saw flying?
I bet you can't find real Italian Bread in WV. I can't find any in my area.
Lanny Davis calling Rush and Laura hate-mongers, is expected and, is of course, TOTALLY hypocritical, especially considering the fact that he worked for the Clintons who will destroy anyone that stands between them and anything that benefits them.
Lanny Davis as much credibility as Rhandi Rhoades. Just another lib that will defend any reprobate that is his ideological soul-mate. But shows his venomous side, when talking about Rush and Laura.
That dirt-bag sends me over the edge.
They just painted themselves into a very narrow corner.
Re Tony Snow and IMHO, the dims across the board are making exactly the same noises I hear from the nine-year-old on her way to the dentist.
You're right. As a teenager, I worked for Bellaccico's. Ain't nothin' near it here!
"Meanwhile, the just released radio Winter Book [Jan-Mar] from ARBITRON shows AIR AMERICA in New York City losing more than a third of its audience -- in the past year! Among all listeners 12+, it was a race to the bottom for AIR AMERICA and WLIB as mid-days went from a 1.6 share during winter 2005 to a 1.0 share winter 2006."
What can I say...it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of anti-Americans.
Correct, the pot calling the kettle black. Will we ever be rid of these fools?
I agree with you about pure debating skills. I listen to Rush for the passion. Tony is the Cerebral Conservative. But anyone who doesn't think he's a real Conservative is smoking rope!
Wide...narrow....a corner's a corner.
Rush just said Tony is not only going to be the Press Secretary but will sit in on policy meetings and assist in implementing same.
That is so true. I've only perused a couple of the Tony Snow threads, but he may be more in tune with the conservative base than most talk show hosts. He certainly is in more of a position, probably the best position, to use that knowledge to help the President and conservative cause during the next few years. May God keep him healthy during the stressful days ahead.
