There is a lot of complaining, whining, lying, misleading, and really bad analysis going on right now vis-a-vis high gas prices. The latest I saw (early this morning) was an analysis that shows a lack of parity between the percentage increase in the price of a barrel of oil and the price of a gallon of gasoline at the pump. Look, I am not an economist or an expert on these matters. But rather than just moaning about the price of gas and then uttering some disembodied, meaningless statistic I heard from some dude, I have actually been listening to experts over the last few days. And, as with just about everything, to more I learn about an issue, the more I realize how important it is to study things before making snap judgments or determining a personal policy position. Here's the scoop as I now understand it...
The price of a gallon of gasoline is only partially determined by the price of a barrel of...

I need the link to Houston's RUsh station. I had it but lost it. WLS is a minute or more behind.
Were you the author of "Weapon of Mass Instruction"?
I remember a caller gave him that and he loved it and was using it within the next couple weeks.
ROFL Sensei...
Good on Rush for knowing about the Townhall snafu. Mr. Prairiebreeze thought I was nuts as I was saying "not true, not true, not true" to the computer during that callers hysterics about the Blankley piece. Heh!
Only a woman can say that, and yes, you're right, LOL... ;>}
I'm sure the person responsible for the error is in a fetal curl in the corner, being pelted with crumpled copy by his/her fellow employees. He/she will probably have to buy donuts for a month, and will never live it down. That said, I believe it was just an error, not deliberate.
Nope, daughter was sick.
Well thank you! lol
I don't even want to THINK about the imagery...~!
No, I cannot claim that one...I'm scratching my head, but it was a one two-week period where we were talking about the election and I used a phrase about Kerry...but I'm drawing a Blankley right now...

From Wikipedia:
Wide release is a term in the American motion picture industry for a motion picture that is playing nationally (as opposed to a few theatres in cities such as New York and Los Angeles) and on 600 screens or more in the United States and Canada.
AHA!!
No, after the reporters waiting outside the theatre grabbed two crying people and spun it... and that was just the trailer before another movie (and reporters just happened to be outside to report on the trailer... yeah).
It's a pretty warm afternoon, going up to 86, but after some thundershowers in the area, the temp's supposed to come down. I'm sure the increased light must be WONDERFUL after such a dark winter. Other than that and having to meet a plumber later today over a stuck and leaking sink, in pretty good shape! How are you doing?
I am, I simply drive less and buy less. I watch the price closer when I have to drive
Is that a gas station owner calling in to Rush now?
"I really think United 93 will be this Yr's Passion of the Christ."
We see one movie a year. Last year it was Narnia. This year we will be seeing United 93 (and probably Naria II).
