Just heard Rep. Dan Burton on CSPAN say WMD found in Iraq
C-Span ^ | 25 April 06 | None

Posted on 04/25/2006 5:03:01 PM PDT by LSUfan

I was watching C-SPAN at about 1845 CDT. First Rep. McDermott of Washington was speaking with his usual drivel.

But then Rep. Dan Burton came up to the podium and said that "one of our special ops organizations" had found "800 canisters of chemical weapons like those used to kill the Kurds" in Iraq.

Anyone else hear this or know anything about it?

They probably found them at that house in Durham where they had the party. The DA planted them there.

I guess we shouldn't be happy that Saddam actually did have weaponized WMDs, but the Schadenfreude is just too intense to resist.

Oh, the response will be "they were old."

"not that many"

"left over from 1876"

"ruined"

"planted"

"did not poise danger"

Etc.

Not sure what he was specficially talking about but we have, in the past, found some small stashes of WMD in Iraq. Nothing radioactive, but lots of chemical things.

We also found a very large stash of (I think sarin?) canisters, but later it was said that the postive results were from the canisters 'reused' and not properly cleaned or something.

Not sure if this is new info, but would be odd to come out in such a way if it was...
