Kelsey Grammer to Run for Office?
LAST UPDATE: 4/25/2006 12:45:06 PM
Actor Kelsey Grammer has decided to follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger and run for public office.
The star and long-term Republican insists his willingness to discuss his troubled past - which includes alcohol and cocaine addictions - will disarm his opponents.
He says, "It's a notion I have about the future - to run for office, to do the world some good.
"Well the idea that we can do the world some good is a little nuts, the world tends to take care of itself.
"My frankness and openness about my past could probably benefit me though."

Is it too late to run against DiFi?
To: Jake The Goose
Sort of how he acted in SunCity last week when confronted ie his stand on illegal immigration and the person asking the questions didn't back down or allow herself to be cowed by his obvious anger.

It will only happen if we all sit out the primaries and McCain wins over some good Republicans (there has to be a few of them that will still run).

Agree completely. Grammer being a celebrity could have a lot to do with that type of charge. And you're right. These days, if it's against a Repub, just the accusation is enough to destroy him. Who was it that asked, after being acquitted of charges, 'where do I go to get my reputation back?'?

You don't believe in redemption? someone should pay for his sins forever?

The man is a commited Republican -- something not easy to admit and still get a job in Hollywood.

Good afternoon.
"Actually, presidential. Remember Hillary and Eleanor Roosevelt?"
Eleanor never made it to the white House herself and, if we are lucky, Hillary won't either so they can talk to all the dead people they want as far as I care.
The moral slips that Grammer made would definitly make him Presidential materiel, but he would have to become a DemocRAT.

In the mid-'90s Grammer was accused of statutory rape by the parents of his childs 15-year-old babysitter, but a New Jersey grand jury declined to indict due to lack of physical evidence. Glad he got off. We can only hope the teenager paid dearly for her accusations.

The DA didn't even bring charges, and they bring charges on pretty flimsy evidence quite often. The DA did bring charges, the Grand Jury refused to indict because it was his word against her word.

his willingness to discuss his troubled past - which includes alcohol and cocaine addictions Unless I'm mistaken, something about his "family values" left a lot to be desired, too.
Why he's Senatorial Timber.

I worked with Kelsey in the late 90s and adore him as a person and actor. I don't know if he is center or right of center, but I'm hoping he can be a formidable candidate in the socialist state of California.
