Are we kidding ourselves. The only thing politicians are interested in is what they can get away with and not upset their cushy jobs. Government is out of control.

How did he calculate that figure? It seems pretty improbable to me.

Yikes! Another nail in the coffin of Republican candidates for 2006. This year's elections will be very ugly indeed. Repubs will be lucky if they win 10% of seats.

Was he suggesting that when we pay for Congress we are in fact paying for gas?

OK, I'm no lover of Congress but compensation up 250% since 2005? Got a source for that?

Can someone please call for an investigation into printer ink gouging!

At nearly $50.00 for a set of color and black cartridges, I can only afford to print small documents on even-numbered days.

Big Ink is conspiring to sell cheap printers, knowing they are useless without their expensive ink.

What's your source on this? It sounds way out of line.

Beck said the same thing on his show this morning, but the start date he cited was 1985.

I'm not a big fan of our Congresscrooks, but they now make $165,200 / year. The 250% pay increase would imply that their pay was $47,200 in 2005. That sets off my BS meter.

As someone has pointed out, you don't have to work nearly has long to fill up your gas tank as you do to pay your taxes! Government is the true gouger!

"congressional compensation is up 250%..."

Where is the math that backs up this figure.

Who knows what this is. Maybe a car allowance or some compensation that had been frozen for 20 years got doubled or something. I hate misleading stats no matter who is touting them.

Based on that, it looks like the gasoline is a bargain.
