Incoming anchor Katie Couric swung by the CBS newsroom for the first time Wednesday, but the right-wing attack squads have already gotten a head start in trying to Rather-ize her.
No sooner was the "Today" co-host's ascension to the "CBS Evening News" revealed this month than conservative firebrand Brent Bozell of Media Research Center opened the bomb hatch on what he called "the perky, likable, and politically liberal Katie Couric, whose biases will only reinforce CBS' reputation as a network riddled with liberally biased reporting."
"In her years on 'Today,' " Bozell added, "she's lectured Charlton Heston about the need for gun control, championed the need for campaign finance 'reform,' and even touted the wonders of France's nanny state." CBS will suck even more than normal once the perky girl reads the news. Can't wait for her in-depth reports on 60 minutes either...maybe she can co-report with Danny-boy, and both of them can tell lies. And maybe Mary Mapes will direct her stories for her..ya' know...women have made great strides in network news!!

...yea,'in depth'...news types love that little catch phrase...I remember a short lived TV show some years back that was about a local Couric type reporterette for a 'major market" TV station...I knew that show had 'jumped the shark' during the 2nd episode when I heard Jessica say with a straight face: "This calls for some in-depth investigative reporting!"
Another liberal hit piece on the awful right wing. God I hate the MSM.
