Breaking on CNN, Tony plans to take the job at the White House.

The only people who said it was CNN, Tony Snow told us that the announcement would come from the WH not him. Tony can not confirm or deny the story at this time. I think Fox News will honor Tony's statement.
D'ya think he'll have a laptop on the podium and take live FReeper questions (likely better ones) rather than those from the Press Corpse? ;^)
OM will he be able to do the job he is a nice guy but this position sometimes require one to parry!
Tony would be a good press secretary, I think, and with only two years to go he wouldn't get burn out and maybe with his charm the press wouldn't start piling on him right away.

And you "oldsters" who imply "newbies" know nothing simply because they found the site later than you did make me laugh. If Henry Kissinger, George Bush, and Ronald Reagan (if he were alive) joined the list they would be "newbies" and all of them have forgotten more about politics then you will ever know. For all you know one of those "newbies" could be someone of their caliber. Critisizing someone for being a newbie just shows one's ignorance.

Don't tell anyone. George Stephanopoulos still sounds amateurish. That ABC continues to allow him to sit in David Brinkley's chair is to the unending shame of the drive-by media. Tony will be such an improvement. I see the "other" side is already trying to hit on Fox for being an arm of the White House. I guess they haven't heard of Juan (ignorant) Williams.
It's hard to believe that we occupy the same country as those idiots. I think most of their side suffers from brain damage probably from a drug induced haze during the 60s.
I've seen the CNN article, but I don't think it's been confirmed. If Tony doesn't do the show, it will be confirmed. But I suspect the President will do it himself and I haven't heard he's back from his Western trip yet.
Fox (and BOR) only knew that it had been publicly speculated in the WaPo which Tony discussed on his show. And as of Thursday during the interview, Tony really didn't know. He was waiting from the results from his doctor, which thankfully must have turned out great!

I have thought that would be a great idea. He probably couldn't do it from a FReep alias (unless he went deep cover), but the White House often does public Q&A. I don't see why Tony couldn't do a regular "Public Asks the White House" deal straight from the White House website.
No big deal.
Tony Snow will have to mouth the same memorized platitudes and evasions that any other WH press secretary would have.
He'll be giving Bush's positions, not his own.
He'll be pro-illegal immigration for one thing.
If he lasts a year you'll all be calling him 'sellout'.

I'm confident Tony Snow will handle this successfully. Ari Fleischer was awesome at this job. I enjoyed and looked forward to watching Ari Fleischer take the media on. He even made us laugh. ;) I think Tony Snow will be wonderful also.
