Absolutely. No, I'm not under the Cervantian misconception that Tony will be making the decisions, rather, it's about the perceptions and dynamics at play (admittedly amorphous).
What Tony can do is, while keeping the jackals at bay in the Beltway, help the President enable at least a couple policy initiatives to be rammed through an election-year GOP Congress. All is not lost.

Tony is a man of his word, He said that the WH would announce it not him.Do you know if it's true that Tony took this position? I haven't seen any evidence of it yet anywhere. I'll sure miss hearing Tony on the radio and on FNC if it is true...

Sounds like it to me too!
As you and most FReepers who know me will recall, I have disagreed completely with GWB on more than one issue. But I never, ever stood for bashing of him from anyone, on FR or anywhere else. That road goes nowhere.
Goodness knows I'm not always happy with things my husband will say or do, but I still love him more than any other human on this planet. My support for GWB is really not too different.
[I don't like getting into bickering posts but sometimes -- geeeze!!]
