Republican Sen. Conrad Burns announced a $1 million federal contract in 2003 for a company that employed his former top aide as a lobbyist and that put Burns' daughter on its board of advisers two months after the senator announced the money.

Republicrats and demlicans ALL THE SAME!!
Retire already Mr. Burns.
The story speaks for itself.
If you think there is anyone better waiting in the wings, think again.
youre an idiot
Congressman Denny Rehberg is available, I believe.
He'd be a good replacement for Burns.
This guy is going down, rightly or wrongly. A Rat might survive, but Burns won't. He needs to be replaced with a strong candidate, now, or his seat will go down the toilet too.
Good point. But for Rehberg to be the nominee, Burns would have to win the primary and drop out.
State Senator Bob Keenan is running against Burns in the primary and polls show he's competitive in the general election.
I don't suppose you're smart enough to read the part of the rules about personal attacks.
and you madam are a naive Dolt!!
no, the Dolts are hte people who think there is no difference between the GOP an dthe DEMS...a part of me will say "you deserved it" when the liberals come for your guns and children
Mega-dittoes, "Georgia." You nailed it.
I am convinced that Burns is even more vulnerable than Santorum. Neither has good prospects. In fact, I think we might win MD or MN before MT or PA.
Luigi: Republicrats and demlicans ALL THE SAME!!
georgia: youre an idiot
No, he's not. Some pols may be less corrupt than others, but as a whole the political class is beneath contempt. Eventually they all come to realize that they are indispensible, and that the whole point of the game is to get re-elected.
You need an apostrophe in "youre."
It would be outrageous if Montana elected a Rat. But these things happen. People are stupid, and all the talk radio in the world won't change that. Pathetic.
Burns is only the second Republican to be a senator from MT since World War II. MT is traditionally Democrat except for President. No Democrat has won it for president since Clinton in 1992.
I know, but the decisive thing is a state's consistent presidential vote. I'm sure many Montanans persist in voting Rat for some lower offices, but this is just stupid. It's the same Rat party, top to bottom. Twenty or thirty years ago it wasn't, but that's a long time ago.
