Rep. McKinney Files to Run for Re-Election

ATLANTA -- Amid a swarm of television cameras, U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney arrived at the state Capitol on Monday to file for re-election.

McKinney smiled broadly but didn't comment on her recent scuffle with a U.S. Capitol Police officer.

"Hello, so good to see you," the Democratic congresswoman said as she made her way around the House chamber.

McKinney was one of dozens of candidates filing the required paperwork and fees Monday to run for office. Elected officials and those hoping to unseat them shook hands and hugged friends and supporters. Campaign T-shirts and buttons were everywhere.

Gov. Sonny Perdue was expected to file his qualifying papers in the afternoon.

McKinney flashed her Georgia driver's license at photographers in an apparent jab at the incident in Washington in late March. She allegedly struck a Capitol Hill police officer who stopped her for bypassing a security checkpoint at a House office building. A grand jury is weighing whether to bring criminal charges in the incident.

Her constituents knew what they were getting last time she was elected and voted her in.

There is no reason to think they wont again.

I'm shocked. I really thought she would go off and find something productive to do with her life. /sarc

In Georgia McKinney is a well known nut, in DC less well known but still a nut.

They have had the case for two weeks now. I wonder if they are hoping we'll forget about it..

If she plans on getting reelected she needs to come out swinging.

She added at least ten points to her re-elect margin with her assault on that police officer, and probably more like 15 or 20.

And the MSM? Grain of salt... large please:

Back to the video... it's all her challenger needs.

Rep. Cynthia McKinney called one of her aides a “fool”, after saying he lied to her about the questions that would be asked a press conference. Late last week, McKinney had a press conference after the first time she met with her constituents since hitting a Capitol police officer. McKinney, who seemed surprised after receiving several questions about the incident, walked out of the press conference with her microphone still attached to her shirt. At this point she called her aide, Coz, a “fool”. She soon realized it and walked out to the press to inform them any audio heard during the time she was not answering questions is “off the record”.

[ Rep. McKinney Files to Run for Re-Election ]

GOOD better a drooling mentally challenged Moonbat than one that can THINK from her district... Her constituents are retards.. Both candidates would vote for legislation the same.. But the "thinker" would NOT be nearly so entertaining.. and would not expose democrats to democrats as the idiots they are.. McKinney makes them SMELL the democrat party..
